Potholes, Tires and Damage OH, MY!

With road trips and travel this summer, I want my family safe while they are sitting behind me in my favorite mom-mobile, Franny the Forester. So when gearing up for trips, daily running around there are things to check on your car.  Especially with potholes that are everywhere all over the Hudson Valley.  Locally in Putnam they make it seem like you are off roading on the paved roadways.

Keep the potholes from ruining your day

How to deal

While we wait for the winter challenges to be filled, there are several things you can do to protect your car.  Did you know there is a proper way to go through a pothole if you cannot above?  Just slow down, release break and roll through with ease.

Jessica Egerton, Director of Brand Development shared, “To ensure that you are treating your vehicle with the best care, it is important to make sure that all parts of the car, including the tires, are regularly checked and well maintained. This includes avoiding potholes while driving whenever possible to do so safely, or inspecting tires if they come in contact with a pothole.”

I do all I can to avoid, after years ago I hit one and blew my tire out on a busy highway.  I never want to deal with that again.  Did you know one quick super easy tire tread trick involves a penny? Also a pressure check, and the visual for cracks, splits, irregular wear, punctures and bulges that could happen from hitting potholes.

Checking tread depth is easy, and can be done with a U.S. Penny. The tread on your tires should be more than 2/32 of an inch deep and can be checked by inserting a U.S. penny into the tread, with Lincoln’s head facing down. If the top of Lincoln’s head is covered by tread, there is at least a minimum acceptable amount of tread. If the top of his head is visible at any point around the tire, it is time to replace the tire.- COOPER TIRE

These tips are just the start, take them, use them and avoid damage.  Report them to the village, town, city and state when you see them.  Keep your car safe this summer on the road. If you do need a new tire, make sure to check out COOPER.

  1. We have had SEVEN flats since March on TWO cars! Is that unreal or what??!! Low profile tires are the worst (and since both cars are Audis, I am half wondering if Audi’s suck themselves). These are great tips that everyone should know!

  2. Potholes are a big issue here right now too as are sink holes. I’ve had a run in with a few myself … ugh. Thank you for the tips. Especially the penny one!

  3. We had one of the worst winters I can remember and our roads are reflecting that. I’m definitely looking to avoid potholes and save my tires! I replaced them all on my old car, then got a new car and more new tires – then got a flat :/

  4. Having lived in India all my life, i can understand the pain of potholes. Now that i drive, i am more careful and slow down the car if i don’t really have an option or space to move and avoid the pothole. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  5. oh man, these potholes are no joke in MN! Now, you not only have to keep your eyes out for bad drivers and construction, but also on major potholes that will ruin your car tires/wheels… yikes!

  6. Oh my gosh, I thought it would be a good idea to visit New Orleans last summer on a whim. I flew into a pot hole the size of my house…got home, and looked it up and saw it was a phenomenon there. Thankfully we didn’t get a flat tire, but potholes are no joke.

  7. I hate Potholes. This really damages my car tires and frame. I really wished the gov. can solve this type of problem in no time. I really don’t want to run into this in the future.

  8. Hey, kprocmom!

Do you not wish you could be Instagram famous?

Well, today I’m going to teach you something that will change forever the way you Instagram.

Imagine: It’s the wee hours of the morning and you told yourself you’d hit the gym today.

You spring up to check your cell.

    Flipping to Instagram.

Whoaaa, you think, Over 561 likes on one picture.

You put your fuzzy slippers on and head to the kitchen for some coffee. After putting on the kettle, you pull out your phone again.

    Bam! Another 20 likes.

And here comes another message. It is from some follower asking about your life, and congratulating you on your sixth official month of going to the gym.

As you read it, you begin to grin. It is a really attractive person, and they love your posts.

Within minutes, your cell buzzes AGAIN.

Oops, another ping. But you can’t reply—you’ve got to hit the gym.
Let’s stop the simulation there. People have a hard time getting what they want in life. People can hardly force themselves to eat a good breakfast.

My job is to take people from Instagram anonymous to Insta-celebrity. (It sounds foolish, but results don’t lie.)

Now, what if you increased your engagement by 100%, or 1000%?

It’s not difficult to do, although almost no one does. Just hit up our website. There, you’ll learn how to garner Instagram likes and followers like mad…effortlessly.

Automagically see tons of likes on your images just minutes after posting.

With this you have a big chance to be featured in the “Top Post” section.

This is all great, but you’ve actually got to put in the work to make it happen. Actually, it is not real work.
    1. Visit https://plantspace.surf
    2. Plug your Instagram username.
    3. The three pictures you posted last will get 10 – 15 likes. Just like that.

Hitting the Top Post page will 10X your Instafame. But you have got to do more than just want it–you have got to do something about it. Are you willing?

    See you on the flipside.
