Travel: Indy Pass for Skiing and Snowboarding

Share

New York is home to the most ski areas in a single state and close to many others in the northeast.  Skiing and snowboarding   for a family is not a cheap family sport, between the gear, tickets, lodging. Resulting in many families only making 1-2 trips a season when not local to a mountain.  This year we checked out the Indy Pass and it has been a game changer for our snowboarding family.

The Indy Pass when bought early is $99 for youth under 12 and $199 for 13+, this pass gives 2 tickets for each of the 49 mountains who participate, independently owned mountains for that small family feel.  This season with 8 days on the pass, we would have been at $463 in tickets for the kids and $595 for myself.  Plus we have another 6 days planned on the pass for another almost $800 in tickets, including holiday break. Look at these savings!! I have only spent $397 and we are almost at $2000 in tickets for this season.

I am always looking for deals and also getting on the snow as much as possible. Even with these COVID times, with quarantines and tests we have had a very decent season so far.  This is mainly because of our Indy Pass. Favorites: Pat’s Peak, Berkshire East and Greek Peak so far from INDY. Remember not all mountains are created equal. Many are not super big mountains but great for families and all abilities.  We have hit 6 Indy mountains with 3 more planned as of the 1st of the February.  No small feat for a mom with little ones.

I am glad I found out about this pass and also passed the information to our friends. 20/21 season a total of 11 friends bought this season, and I am sure next season even more.
