Review: Westchester Winter Wonderland 2019
Westchester’s 6th Annual Winter Wonderland
With each year the changes keep improving and the attraction keep getting bigger. A new tradition for the families of Westchester and around.
We attended the 6th Annual Tree Lighting on November 29th. This year we brought friends with us and made an even bigger tradition for the adults and kids alike. The kids enjoyed counting down and watching the tree light. Immediately after they ran to ice skate, the ease of grabbing skates and getting on the ice is super easy for parents. You can bring your own skates also, otherwise rentals are included with admission.
We then had some dinner from the food stands and sat warming up in the tent. Then the kids were off again, this time to the circus show. Keeping them all entertained, the outfit changing act and motorcross in the sphere cage were just WOW!
Santa
Next up was SANTA! This year inside the tent was a village, all super creative and keeping the kids entertained while waiting in the super quick moving line. There are sweets and accessories you can purchase while in this tent too if you are looking. Take your own photos with this authentic looking Santa Claus they have at Winter Wonderland this year. We organized 3 families and a group shot to be done quickly and they came out great. Christmas Cars photo done!
Kids ran onto the Fun Slide at this point. Here is where the savings come in- these rides are all included with admission, anywhere else its tickets or extra bracelet. Nope! I think the kids went down over 10 times, even I raced down the slide versus the kids once. Onto the next and next. We then warmed up again with some deserts and adult beverages, did you know they have their own special one just for Winter Wonderland, a pale ale.
After the kids wanted to go on the Hay Ride, so we ended our night on that, this time just the moms and kids while the dads hung out in the tent together. Everyone was happy! We spent 4 hours playing, hanging out and enjoying ourselves. We can’t wait for next year so I have a feeling we are going to go back again before it leaves in January 4th.
For the $20 all-inclusive ticket price, guests will also enjoy ice skating on the 70-foot by 90-foot outdoor ice rink, including skate rental. All new this year, the “FUNderland Village” at Winter Wonderland will feature six thrilling rides, surrounding the Winter Wonderland Holiday Circus, in addition to favorites Winter Hay Ride, Wonderland Express, and others for a total of EIGHT RIDES. This year’s “Lights of Wonder” show will feature even more lights and music, with magical displays to dazzle visitors. Plus a REINDEER Meet!!
The event is running now through Monday, January 4th, from 5 pm – 9pm Sunday-Thursday and 5pm-10pm Friday-Saturday on select dates. Check http://www.wwinterwonderland.com for calendar and special events.
