Review: Westchester Parks Winter Wonderland 2018

Share

I have added attending the Westchester Parks Winter Wonderland to our family traditions.  It was the only tree lighting we did this year  (and last). The tree, rides, games, iceskating, food trucks, there is just so much to do for ONE price.  While the kids are only young once, how many times have your heard that one?  I feel the days of believing in Santa are numbered also with a 3rd grader and 2nd grader.  So I want to take in as much Christmas magic as I can.

Disclosure: We were invited to attend this event free of charge. No other compensation was included and all opinions as always are our own.

Mom VS Kids… Jack won!

We went down on a freezing night, it was so cold, but also preparing for the cold, we wore layers.  We also took breaks inside the heated tents for food and Santa visits just to warm up.  Warm drinks and food helped too!  We choose to eat dinner there, and check out the waffle truck and the cider donut truck.

You want to know why I love this event.  First off VALUE- the ticket includes ice skating, open to close, this alone at most local places is half of ticket price if not more.   The rides because there are no tickets, we went on the Fun Slide racing each other 3 times and then the kids went again.  If you have been to a carnival you know rides alone cost a billion dollars (just kidding- sorta!).  So going on and and them again was wonderful.  There are 10 to choose from.  Santa pictures- they are take your own and free. We did a group picture and then just kids, FREE! In my head I am already at a $75 value if not more.   Circus- There is a  mini circus show with talented acts included in ticket price.  BAM you are at $100 a person.  Where are you getting all that for $20 a ticket??

I have to drag out my kids, off the ice and off the rides to get them to leave.  They never want to leave, even with the weather temps while we were there.   Open from 5-10pm on Friday nights thats 5 hours of nonstop fun.   What I have to add to our traditions now is attending their New Years Eve event.
