Our Halloween was fantastic and my 18 month old has figured out that candy is the greatest thing on earth now!  If your kids are still living off their candy take and need somewhere to go here are your best bets this week!

Friday November 6th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Create with Rigamajig – Tucked in the corner of the new exhibition, Link, Lift, Launch, are building materials designed for children called Rigamajig.  Museum educators will help guide adults and children and turn the wooden boards, nuts and bolts into imaginative creations.  This program is offered free with museum admission.

Saturday November 7th

Village of Red Hook, Red Hook

ChocolateFest – A complete celebration of Red Hook with Music, A Skateboard Race through the streets, Chocolate cooking demos, Historical discussion, and loads of chocolate.

Stormville Flea Market, Stormville

Christmas in November – One of New York’s largest and most popular outdoor flea markets with 600 vendors, several of whom have been there since the beginning!  You’ll find a wide variety of bargains and treasures including: Apparel, Handbags, Jewelry and Tools.  A special Kids Area offers fun for all ages which includes inflatable slides, bounce houses and games for a nominal fee.

Sunday November 8th

Church of the Messiah Parish Hall, Rhinebeck

Free Family Concert – Sleeping Beauty: is the captivating tale of a Princess put under the spell of a slightly scary witch. Not until a Prince from a distant Kingdom discovers the sleeping castle is the evil spell broken. See the adventures of the court Jester, the King, Queen and the Pages in this sparkling musical fantasy of “Sleeping Beauty”

Tuesday November 10th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

The Turkey Takeaway – During this silly story time we will read, “Ten Fat Turkey’s” by Tony Johnston.  After the story, museum educators will lead a workshop of counting backwards and very simple subtractions plus Thanksgiving-inspired math activities!  This program is offered free with museum admission

Wednesday November 11th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Pop-up Thank You Cards – This is the season of gratitude!  Children will create personalized thank you cards with fun pop-up surprises inside!  $5 per child with museum admission
