A Night Out with Parents Magazine and Momtrends

I have been a Parents Magazine fan since my first issue at the OBGYN, and I think I will be receiving new issues until I am an empty nester.  Even with my elementary school age kids, there are always useful columns, ideas and tips.  As an early childhood educator its useful to see the new trends coming up and changes since my kids were little.  I announced I was pregnant with my first just 10 years ago,  a decade!

When I was invited to participate in a Mom’s Night Out with Momtrends, Parents, Clorox and Baby Dove I was thrilled, sharing a room with some of my favorite brands in one room that help moms get through motherhood in one room.

Parents Food

Monthly Parents Magazine has a Foods & Recipes section and when holidays are near ways to get the kids involved.  Halloween issue which is out now, spooky snack and treats ideas.  I made one of their Monster Fruit Skewers- fruit, marshmallows, nut butter/honey to attach eyes and act as a glue.  A simple treat my kids could make themselves, that I certainly had fun trying out for myself.

Parents Scent Station

With monthly features for mom in Parents Magazine each month the November issue “My Scent Story” inspired the make your own perfume station.  We chose 2 notes for the bottom, middle and top of our perfume.  I had chosen Labdanuan/Sandlewood, Ylang Ylang/Jasmine and Grapefruit/Rosewood for my personal mom-scent.  Check at the article, I know we can all relate when we change our daily routine after becoming moms and what we smell like isn’t that pleasant scent from before anymore.  Baby lotion, dry shampoo and deodorant for anyone else before adding on the vomit and poop! Oh those baby memories.

Dove Baby

With new babies, I always looked for the more delicate products when it came to bath time.  Baby Dove is just this. They want to nurture the protective layer  of microflora they are born with.  Did you know that?  It’s their own microbiome and unique to each baby that works to maintain skin’s health. Baby Dove is uniquely made with prebiotic moisture and 100% skin-natural nutrients to gently nourish your baby’s delicate microbiome.  My family has a new baby on the way, I know what I am recommending!

Clorox

I mean what mom has not used Clorox?  As a teacher and a mother Clorox have been in my bag of tricks for years.  They even sit in my trunk for cleanups too!  At home when the kids are thinking they are helping in the kitchen, making crafts and the BATHROOM… Yup! Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes “conveniently tackle life’s messes-  while removing germs, bacteria and countless other nasties you may find lurking in your home. ”  With flu season lurking and teaching two year olds who stick everything in their mouths and touch, cleaning the class room with Clorox Disinfecting Wipes provide effective way to clean while killing 99.9% of germs and bacteria for fewer sick days. Phew says this teacher.

Hanging out with fellow moms for Momtrends Moms Night Out was just what I needed for a break during a busy week of juggling work, kids and family.  Chatting, snacks, some drinks was a perfect mid-week outing.  Keeping up with the trends, friends lives and yourself is always needed as a mom.  That dressing up, freshening up and childfree for just a few hours is so important. Don’t forget that moms!
