NEW Pop-up Ice Skating Rink, Annual Tree Lighting, Menorah Lighting, Cocoa & Carols with Mrs. Claus and more!

 

YONKERS, N.Y. (November 1, 2018) – The holidays are almost here! Cross County Shopping Center, an iconic Yonkers destination for holiday shopping and entertainment, is ready to celebrate the season in style. Family-friendly events, extended shopping hours, an online gift guide and more festivities launch this month.

“We have a wide range of holiday happenings taking place at Cross County Shopping Center in 2018,” said Liz Pollack, Senior Marketing Manager. “From a brand new pop-up ice skating rink to some of our classic, signature events and of course, a fantastic selection of stores for shopping, there is something for everyone to enjoy this season.”

 

NEW Pop-Up Ice Skating Rink, November 10 – January 13, 2019

Guests are invited to visit the Pop-up Holiday Ice Rink, located next to Santa’s Village, by Victoria’s Secret and Gap. The rink is made of a synthetic floor, which glides a bit slower than real ice…perfect for young and first-time skaters.

Admission to the rink includes skate rental and a one-hour skate session. Guests can bring their own skates, however, admission remains the same. Admission fee is $8 Tuesday – Thursday and $12 Friday – Sunday. Children under 4 skate free. Credit Cards only.

Ice Rink schedule is as follows (subject to change):

  • Tuesday – Friday, 4pm – 8pm (last call to skate at 7pm)
  • Saturday – Sunday, 12pm -8pm (last call to skate at 7pm)
  • Christmas Eve, 12pm – 7pm (last call to skate at 7pm)
  • New Year’s Day, 12pm – 4pm (last call to skate at 3pm)
  • Closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day

 

Skating Special Events

Attention New York Rangers Fans! Don’t’ miss the opportunity to meet with New York Rangers Goalie, Mike Richter, on December 1 from 11 am – 1pm at the Ice Rink. Mr. Richter will be available for photos and autographs with fans.

Skate with the Characters! The schedule is as follows:

 

  • December 5, 5:30pm – 7pm, Skate with Mickey & Minnie
  • December 8, 2pm – 3:30pm, Skate with Rudolph & Frosty and DJ appearance
  • December 12, 5:30pm – 7pm, Skate with Spiderman & Batman
  • December 15, 2pm – 3:30pm, Skate with Anna & Elsa
  • December 19, 5:30pm – 7pm, Skate with the Elf

First time on ice skates? Try a lesson! Visit Chill Skating S’Cool for lessons taking place every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm – 3pm. Fee is $19 per person.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town, November 9th!
Visit Santa for photos and a free gift! Santa will be available for photos and visits at his winter home, located between Gap and Bath & Body Works. Reservations are available, but not required. Santa will be at Cross County Shopping Center from November 9 – December 24.

 

Pet Photos with Santa: November 12, 19, 26 and December 3, 10, from 5:15pm – 8pm
Photo op for our furry friends! Dogs & Cats only. Pets must be on a leash or in a carrier.

November 9 – December 14

  • Monday – Thursday, 11am-8pm (Breaks: 1pm-1:45pm and 4:30pm-5:15pm)
  • Friday – Saturday, 10am – 9pm (Breaks: 1pm-1:45pm and 4:30pm-5:15pm)
  • Sunday, 11am – 7pm (Break: 2:30pm-3:15pm)

December 15 – December 24

  • Saturday, 12/15 to Sunday, 12/23, 10am – 9pm
  • Monday, 12/24, 8am – 6pm

 

 

Tree Lighting Celebration, November 17, 6pm – 9pm

The Annual Tree Lighting Celebration will include a concert from Renaissance Youth Center’s Music with a Message Band, most recently featured on Good Morning America. Plus, family friendly activities including strolling characters, food vendors, ice skating and more. From the North Pole to the City of Yonkers, Santa will make his grand entrance in a classic red dune buggy, and then be available for photos and visits with children throughout the night.

 

 

Night of Giving, Tuesday November 27, 4pm – 8pm

#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Cross County Shopping Center will provide guests with an opportunity to contribute to our local community by supporting the Big Brother Big Sisters of Westchester (BBBSoW), a volunteer youth mentoring organization supporting at-risk children.  100% of the ice skating rink admission on this day will be donated to BBBSoW, and the total amount generated will be matched by the mall. Additionally, shoppers can visit with representatives from BBBSoW at the mall during this time and learn more about becoming involved.

Cocoa & Carols with Mrs. Claus, Sunday, December 2, 11am

Cross County Shopping Center will host Cocoa & Carols on Sunday, December 2 at 11 am. Geared for kids under 10, families will enjoy caroling, cocoa, cookies and stories from Mrs. Claus! The event takes place on The Green, in the center of the mall, near the NEW Pop-Up Ice Skating Rink. The event is free. No reservations are required.

 

Menorah Lighting, Monday, December 3, 6pm

Join Cross County Shopping Center for a special Chanukah Menorah Lighting on Monday, December 3 at 6pm. Chabad of Yonkers will light the menorah in celebration of the festival of lights, enjoy live music, cultural dancing and delicious treats! The event will take place on The Green, near NY&CO and Michael Kors.
