Summer Toys on Vacation
Recently we had the opportunity to check out some toys with the kids and we took them on vacation with us. A week away always includes some down time and the need for activities and toys. We checked out the Groovy Glow Wubble Ball, Smithsonian Rock and Gem Dig Kit, Smithsonian 30X Telescope/Monocular Kit and All Pro Passer. All easy to pack and bring with us and great for the little cousins to play along with the big ones.
We received the following toys for review, all opinions are our own and honest.
Groovy Glow Bubble Ball– A classic Bubble Ball with a glow and the dark twist. You blow up with a straw included, leave near lights and then it glows. The kids had lots of fun throwing and catching this in our backyard on vacation. It wubbles as it comes down from the sky and does not pop when it hits the grass. The kit does come with repair patches though just in case. Retail $13.99
The Smithsonian 30X Telescope/Monocular Kit was set up in minutes by my 11 year old. It is made of plastic, less than 2 feet long with a tripod to hold up. On a clear night we went out to look up at the banana moon as the littles called it. My kids took their cousins outside to look up and laid on the grass to catch the perfect viewing of the moon. This is a great “my first” telescope for littles, best for the 3-5 age group in my opinion. Retail $19.99
Smithsonian Rock and Gem Dig Kit is great for 30 minutes of digging and chipping away to find the tiny gems inside, all are size of a dime or smaller. Watch when around younger kids, the set comes with a bag to keep them all once you are done sorting and finding out what types of those gems are there. The kit includes a magnifying glass, safety goggles along with mallet and pick to dig them out. This retails around $12.99 and great for those loving rocks.
The All Pro Passer– We put this together quickly, just needed to get the 4 C batteries which does increase the price of the toy. My son is loving playing catch outside without the need of his sister, which prevents the fighting. It is small enough to move around the property and take with him to friends homes. We could not get it to the top pump and didn’t want to push it too much, but pumping to the middle is more than enough to fly for catching. Retail s $49.99
