Putnam & Dutchess Weekend Events 4/28 – 4/29

My 7 year old makes first communion this weekend and we have almost 50 people coming to my house on Saturday afternoon. PRAY for me. However if you are free and looking for something to check out there is plenty going on around here!

Friday April 27th

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Star Lab: Journey into the museum’s StarLab Planetarium to learn basic astronomy concepts. After the program, you’ll be able to find real constellations in the night sky!$3 per person, plus museum admission.

Saturday April 28th

Route 52, Carmel

Spring Festival: Join over 100 vendors for the Carmel Spring Fair, which will be held on Saturday, April 28 from 1 to 5 p.m. along Rt. 52 in Carmel from Fair St. to Vink Drive. There will be vendors, rides, food trucks and entertainment. Help us celebrate the arrival of Spring.

Kidventure: Hudson Valley KidVenutre is going to be even bigger and better!  An inclusive two day weekend event for all abilities, Hudson Valley KidVenture will allow children of all ages to explore, discover and, most of all, have fun.  Featuring entertainment, demonstrations, hands-on activities, Touch A Truck and much, much more, this event is not to be missed.

Flea Market: The Stormville Airport Antique Show & Flea Market is a fun, family-friendly atmosphere that draws thousands of shoppers to each show. With acres and acres of merchandise our market offers a wide variety of bargains, treasures, and unique items for everyone.

Main Street, Beacon

Beacon Barks: Street festival for people who love animals, live music, great food, and having fun in the heart of Beacon. Join us and show appreciation for animal shelters, rescue and welfare organizations. Bring your four-legged family members. Local shops and restaurants open their doors to participants (both canine and otherwise) for snacks & treats. A variety of service providers offer information and advice on caring for your pets.

Sunday April 29th

Tymor Park, UnionVale

Fishing Derby: Join the Union Vale Parks and Recreation Department for a free, fun-filled morning of fishing at our annual Fishing Derby!
UVPR will supply the worms upon registration (check in at registration table day of the derby). Participants bring their own rods, hooks, and any other desired tackle.  Award Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m.  This event is geared towards youth ages 15 years and under*
*Anyone 16 years and older assisting youth (casting, reeling in, etc) MUST have a valid NYS fishing permit.
