Putnam & Dutchess Weekend Events 4/21 – 4/22

I hope everyone got out and enjoyed the beautiful weather last weekend. It is looking pretty good for this weekend as well. We have some parties for friends and a Girl Scout cookie booth, but if you are still looking for something to do here are some awesome events!  Don’t forget that Earth Day is this weekend so get out there and show the Earth some LOVE!

Saturday April 21st

Hyde Park Drive In, Hyde Park

Earth Day Events: Activities and tips for appreciating and improving our environment. Featuring Roosevelt_Vanderbilt National Historic Sites/National Park Service, Dutchess County Resource Recovery Agency, Hyde Park Community Garden, NYS Dept. of Environmental Conservation Region 3, POK reCycle Project, Clearwater, Hyde Park Visual Environment Committee, and more.

Michaels, All Areas

Kids Club: 10-Noon Kids Club® Earth Day Crafts $2 – $5 a child. (APPLEMOMS Favorite), All Areas

Make Break: 12-2 Kids Club® Tye Dye Shirts Buy the shirts and the store provides the rest. (APPLEMOMS Favorite), All Areas

Elephant Hotel, Somers

Circus Day: Calling all kids!! Come and try your hand at circus performing try plate spinning, clowning and learn to juggle.  Learn about the history of the circus from the Somers Historical Society as well!

Stonykill Farm, Wappingers Falls

Earth Day: Join Stony Kill Foundation and Common Ground Farm and celebrate Earth Day with fun activities and visits with our farm animals. Free admission for all ages.

Sunday April 22nd

Winnakee Lake, Hyde Park

Nature/Bird Hike: Celebrate Earth Day with Winnakee and the Ralph T. Waterman Bird Club as we stroll through the Winnakee Nature Preserve in search of the beautiful birds who reside there.  This event will feature guided bird walks from members of the Ralph T. Waterman Bird Club.   This is a FREE event.  Children and families are welcome!

Southeast Veteran’s Park, Brewster

Earth Day Puppet Show: Head to the park to watch Beez and Lost Polar Bear.  Earth Day Large Scale Puppet Plays created with recycled materials!  For children and adults
