Historic Hudson Valley’s LIGHTSCAPES
Last weekend, we were able to check out Historic Hudson Valley’s LIGHTSCAPES at Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson. There are only 12 nights left (only here for the month of May), its great fun for the whole family, and a great night time outing. The entire exhibit is outdoors and walk through, so you can go at your own pace, and push strollers through. LIGHTSCAPES is brought to you by The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze and does not disappoint.
Starting off in the tent shop, there are plenty of presents for kids, our favorites were the glowing hand fan and flashing butterfly wand that sings. There is also a hospitality tent with yummy baked goods, popcorn and brownies were a hit here. I may go back just for more of them!
This kids were ready and off we went starting with going through the magical rainbow, next up the bubbles. The kids immediately noticed that bottles, containers and jugs made some of the lighted magic, bringing up a quick talk of recycling until we finished that conversation once back in car. The kids stopped to look, count ants, ladybugs and mushrooms, great for working on our counting and math skills.
This will now be on our list of things to do each spring. Are you ready to attend? Check the schedule and buy tickets (discount when bought in advance online). Advance: Adults $16 & Children 3-17 $12 Free for 3 and younger ($2 more at door if tickets are available). Don’t forget to check out Historic Hudson Valley on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
