Apple Moms Holiday Gift Guide for Kids 2017

Holiday Gift Guide Mid-November and the Holidays are quickly approaching, the toy catalogs are probably circled, starred and wrinkled by now, they are at my house. We have the Holiday Gift Guide for Kids I am still making my game plan for shopping, I like to be done early, even though the kids will change their minds between now and the big day.   We have our list of top toys for kids this holiday season.   Our list does contain Affiliate links, buying from them helps us Apple Moms continue to drink coffee to get us through the day with our kids! kidding…sorta.  We started at what we believe the youngest kids would like, but you know your kid(s) the best and what they would play or not play with.

GIFTS

Ages 0-2

    • Flip Zee Girls–  Our tester 18months went crazy for Zoey Bear.  She loved the baby to big girl and hugged and has been carrying it everywhere. Recommended for 3+. They are clothing with bright colors, wacky hair and it is two great toys in one.  MSRP $19.99
    • Stack & Tumble Elephant by LeapFrog- Great toy for the littles, compact to take on the go.  A great spin on the classic stacking toy, this one lights up and teaching numbers, colors, shapes and sequencing. Many cause & effect items on the elephant for the kids to play and explore.  MSRP: $14.99

 

Ages 3-5

    • VTech Go!Go! Smart Friends Shimmering Seashell Castle–  This interactive, cause and effect, language inducing toy is a must for any little girl in your life.  Characters can be placed on the castle that trigger responses, songs and sayings.  The bright colors are appealing and additional accessories can be added to the castle for more play.     • MagnaFlex by WOWWEE– These magnetic toys FLEX, just like the name says.  We have been using them in storytime and the kids have been going crazy for them. Now you can make sometime circular, a standing palm tree.  Each set comes with multiple magnetic strips that bend and circles with can be eyes, wheels or whatever your kid wants them to be.     • Playbrites Build your own nightlight.  This is Mr Potato Head meats night light animals.  Kids can can create their own nightlight with many faces and pieces that also is 6 colors when turned on). They have a handle to carry around.  My kids love nightlight but they also love playing, they picked the Shark.  There are 5 animals dragon, puppy, kitty, bunny and shark to choose and play with.     • Zinc Flyte Scooter Suitcases-  Do your kids travel?  This is a suitcase with a fold up scooter attached. Great for airport travel and more.  They have many designs and animals for the kids to love.  A practical gift, when you have more than 1 kids, this is easier then carrying or pulling your kids.  They will have fun traveling themselves. Perfect for 4/5 – ages 8. Easy storage or everyday use.  MSRP starting $59.99

    • FlipaZoo 2.0  Two stuffed animals in 1, they flip back and froth between animals and super soft to double as a pillow, car companion on a road trip.  My kids 6 & 7 love these toys.  The have requested these for the past two years. MSRP $19.99
    • Disney Tangled Rapunzel’s Adventure Bag by Jakks Pacific– This bag is a great purse for any young Rapunzel fan. They have the diary safe to go with it too.  We are huge Rapunzel fans in this house and little fashionistas. Costumes, bow set are also available.  MSRP $12.99

    • Thomas & Friends Super Station–  Mattel: The Ultimate track set for the ultimate Thomas Fan. This is tracks, storage (100 trains) and comes with a couple of trains. This set incorporates all the Thomas sets- mini, Take and Play/Adventure, Track Master and Wooden/Wood trains.  This track is over 7 feet long and can be set up how your child wants it.  We are HUGE train fans and I can’t wait for this to be opened and played with. Ages 6+

    • Chippies by Wowwee: These adorable pups in pink, blue or purple are the perfect small robotic pet for your kids. They interact by touching their heads or the remote the come with.  Chippies also interact with Chip the bigger dog.  MSRP $39.99

    • Build -a- Bot by Colorific–  This STEM activity comes with 20+ pieces, instructions and birth certificate.  This toy promotes kids with early building and following directions.  They also create a playmate- bunny, fox or a dino.  Once completed the animal will move.   We loved this because we love building and seeing what the kids are capable of.  MSRP: $29.99 What animal would your kid choose?

    • Fingerlings by Wowwee: The HOTTEST craze of the holiday shopping.  Fingerlings come individually or with a play set, a Unicorn or Sloth can also be found at select stores.  They interact with each other, sit on your finger and will respond to certain actions your child does.  We have been playing with them since August and the kids bring them to school daily. MSRP $14.99

    • World of Nintendo Splatoon Splattershot Ink BlasterJAKKS PACIFIC Ultimate shooter (slime) for the gamer and Splatoon lover. You can get extra refills for when it runs out.  After playing with I can see why the kids want this. Better for outdoors but easy to clean indoors too.  MSRP $29.99

      • Build & Imagine Creativity Castle– This magnetic building set challenges the child to build and tell a story. Instead of only having one scene and setup to play, each time they play, a new castle is made using the magnetic story boards. wooden figures and accessories. This set encourages imaginative play, speech, role playing and cooperative play.MSRP $60

    • LEGO Sets–  LEGO Friends sets with ski and snowboarding our our favorites currently.  Also the Ninjago sets and Star Wars for boys.  Overall LEGO is a classic toy and gift that encourages STEM play, fine motor and imaginative play.  I love listening to my kids wile they are building and giving the characters or friends voices.

Ages 12+

    • Digiloom by Wowwee: This digital craft maker uses an app to weave bracelets, headbands and bookmarks that are pre-made designs ormake your own.  Digiloom is sold at Michaels both start set and refill kits and great for the younger ages and also the tween set. MSRP $49.99 and refills $7.99
    • WASPcam ROX 9942– It is all about the action cameras with the tween/teens.  Great for sports, snowboarding, biking and more this wifi enabled camera can later send the photos and videos to their phones for sharing.  This also comes with many attachments for all camera location needs.  MSRP $139.99
    • SWITCH by Nintendo:  The latest Nintendo console is a great family gift.  Two Joy-Con Controllers come attached, extras can be purchased, can be used in home on the TV, in home on the console and or travel.  A cross between a “DS” and home system.  We love Mario Kart 8, Mario Odyssey and 1-2-Switch.  MSRP: $299

  • TSUMSTUM– Bling Bags with your favorite Disney and Super Hero characters.
