3rd Fridays – Kingston Night Market.   April – October 2014. Saturdays, Ongoing – Pallet Puppet Theatre Story Time. An interactive puppet theatre show where kids interact with their puppets learning a variety of interesting things.   Children ages 3-11 years learn how to make puppets out of cardboard boxes and recycled materials then put on an educational puppet show using the Spanish language. They are encourage to learn the language and are engaged  in speaking Spanish with their puppets. Free. 20  (Rain date September 27).    St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church  Annual Yard Sale. Shoppers will find a varied selection of furniture, household items, glass­ware, dishes, pictures and frames, as well as books, toys, and games.  Also for sale will be Christmas decorations, jewelry and collectibles. Hot and cold beverages and delicious home baked goods will be offered for sale throughout the day. A portion of the proceeds of the Yard Sale will be donated to local charities, including, as always, Family of New Paltz. Donations will be accepted September 14, 11:30am-1pm;  September 16, 17 & 18, from 1am-3pm; September 18, 6-8pm; and September 19 from 9-Noon. Please ring the bell at the back door of the church (entrance off North Oakwood Terrace).  No linens, clothing or televisions, please. The 2014 Hudson River Valley Ramble. An event series that celebrates the history, culture and natural resources of the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area, as well as the amazing landscape, communities, and trails throughout the region. The Ramble will take place over four weekends in September. Whether you are interested in a challenging hike, bike ride or paddle, an inspiring walk through the grounds and homes of some of the Valley’s most notable artists, authors, and Great Americans, a trip back in time to experience the significant role the region played in the Revolutionary War, or a family-fun festival or river exploration event, the Hudson River Valley Ramble truly offers something for everyone. Saturday & Sunday
3rd Annual Hudson Valley Harvest Festival (HVHF). Celebrate the Hudson Valley’s rich agricultural bounty and so much more. This family-fun event will feature a huge Farmers’ Market highlighting local farms, a kids play area, and a broad array of arts and crafts and food vendors, including the 4-H Snack Bar and their famous milkshakes, fall themed treats and brick oven pizza, live music, animal exhibits, home and garden demos, a quality tag sale, and more! And don’t forget our contests! Compete for “Best in the Hudson Valley” and receive a prize at various contests, including a photo contest and exhibit, cupcake and pie baking, and pickle and jam canning contests. Ages 10 and up can participate in the Farm Olympic Games on Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm, and we will host a Classic Car Show on Saturday from 10:00am to 3:00pm, Touch-A-Truck will be held on Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Daily general admission tickets are $5 each day, and ages 5 and under are FREE. Tickets are available at the gate. The proceeds from this event benefit Cornell Cooperative Extension Ulster County and Family of Woodstock, Inc., two of the county’s leading agencies providing services and education to the Ulster County community.
