Tuck Everlasting on Broadway

Share

imageMy 6 year old and I went to his first Broadway Show this month, we attended Tuck Everlasting at the Broadhurst Theatre.  New to the NYC Stage, opening April 26th.  WE (he) LOVED it. “A movie in real life”, he called it.  We attended with The Moms and a meet and greet after the show with some of the main characters. The singing, dancing and acting were superb. Looking for a first play with your family, why not start with one where the lead is 11 years old, yes ELEVEN!image

Sarah Charles Lewis played “Winnie Foster” next to Andrew Keenan- Bolger as “Jesse Tuck” as two kids with crushes, yet one was really 102 years old.  Would you want to live forever? The Tuck family was and well the grass may not always be greener. Between the two acts, and 15 minute intermission, you don’t want to miss a second.

imageThe ending, just sit, watch and grab a tissue. Just beautiful, mesmerized by Sarah/Winnie.  The whole cast was wonderful and after the show, answered questions and shared some thoughts on the play.  Would you want to live forever? We all had mixed opinions, I would not.

After show Meet & Greet.

Tuck Everlasting is inspired by the story by Natalie Babbitt, a book most students read, I am grateful to have shared this experience with my son.  Show runs weekly with Mondays and Fridays off, find tickets here.
