The wonderful Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, which is our new favorite place for movies, had a screening of Disney’s new movie The BFG.  This movie is adapted from Roald Dahl’s book which came our in the early 1980s.  Personally he is one of my favorite children’s authors that I have always shared with my students.

Without giving much away, Disney stayed true to Roald Dahl’s book and characters. Memories popping into my head of what I thought of when I have read the story many times to what was happening on the screen in front of me.the-BFG-poster

One of the favorite parts for Jackson (our kid reviewer)  was when everyone drank frobscottle (especially the queen) and its side effects. Everyone can laugh at that part.  Equal parts for the kids and adults, and for the younger generation, this generation grew up reading The BFG for school or summer projects. If you haven’t read it now, before the movie!
