REVIEW: Schwinn Smart Start Bikes

Share

SCHWINN BikesSummer is in full swing.  The Apple Moms are  all about bike riding and outdoor fun, so our partnership with Schwinn Smart Start for a review of their 16in Burnout Boys bike was exciting.  A thrilled Joey tested out his new boy bike and ride with both a hand break and pedal break.  The sleek racer design with Schwinn number plate, attracting kids interest to riding.  Most important is child’s safety, make sure you have a properly fitting helmet also.image

The Hudson Valley has bike trails everywhere.  The Putnam County Trailway, North County Trailway, Dutchess Rail Trail to the Walkway Over The Hudson and more.  As an active family we ride often on paths all over, especially Carmel, Ossining and Yorktown railway sections.  They are kid friendly, safe from traffic (look both ways and walk bikes across road intersections), and bring water.image

Since school is out, getting active and outdoors is most important during this time.  Furthermore, we do UNPLUGGED play daily, even banning plugged in toys/tech for certain days when I really need to get the kids off the screens. Most of all, its incredibly important for kids to be active and outdoors to be healthy.  We started with balance bikes and found local racing and then moved onto bike riding and now racing on a BMX track.

Smart Start Features:

  • Pedal Better- Pedals adjusted to width of kids hips.
  • Build Confidence- Reduced weight of bike, easier to handle and control.
  • Stay Comfortable- Seats designed for kids’ proportions.
  • Stay In Control– Smaller grips for hands to hold and control.
  • Start Faster- Fast start gears to get moving.
  • Start Easier- Pedal position was moved forward, increasing leverage to pedal.

The Schwinn Smart Start bikes are budget friendly, they can be found in Toys R Us, Walmart and Target stores.  Kids are able to use these bikes to learn to ride and then continue with the stages and size with Schwinn.  Schwinn sells bikes and accessories for the whole family.

Benefits to Bike Riding:

There are many benefits to riding bikes for kids. Strengthening their muscles, bones and heart.  Developing balance and core muscle strength. Kids are working out without even realizing it.  This is an activity the whole family can do at the same time.  This is a life long skill, sport for kids and their families.
