Rockland EventsHey Everyone! Summer break is here(or soon to be 😉  for the kiddos! I’ve got your info on what to keep your child busy this week! This week I’ve included a few useful GROWNUP fun as well!  Yah..a fun night out.. preferably withOUT our kids 😉 I hope I can bring your some great ideas to stay entertained 🙂 I’d love to hear from you what type of FUN stuff you like to do.  I’ll try to keep my eyes open for what you like! Check out whats happening for us around town this week! Make it a great week!! 🙂

 GROWNUP FUN:

Thursday  June 18 – Summer Concert Series – “NO EXIT will be performing at The Shops at Nanuet

Starting every Thursday June 18 thru Thursday September 24 starting at 6:30pm. Meet in the plaza and enjoy local and live entertainments, giveaways, prizes and much more!

 

Thursday June 18 – Concerts in the Park at Bear Mountain.

 “Amish Outlaws” will be performing

3020 Seven Lakes Drive

Grab a date and watch The Amish Outlaws as they grace the gates of Bear Mountain and bring their raucous joy and light-hearted music. Hear everything from Jay-Z to Bon Jovi, The Foo Fighters to Dropkick Murphys. Top it off with your favorite TV theme songs and you’ve got a recipe for an amazing evening.  Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and find a comfy spot on the lawn. PLEASE NO COOLERS – there are NOT permitted. Food and drinks concessions will be provided.  Parking is complimentary AFTER 4pm. Early arrival and Car-pool is STRONGLY recommended.  Admission to Concerts in the Park is Complimentary!

 

Friday – Live Music:  Mighty Spectrum Band playing at Bailey’s Smokehouse

I LOVE me some bbq! Who doesn’t! Get on down to Baileys Smokehouse for some goooood food – Music starts at 10pm:  136 E. Erie Street Blauvelt

Friday June 19 – Live Music:  Sum of the Others playing at The Kitchen Table & Bar (formerly Jimmy’s on Main)

Want a night out? In the mood for a new place? Show starts at 9pm.  Kick off the summer right at this great new addition to Nanuet! Great food, good drinks, good music!   145 Main Street Nanuet

 KID FUN:

June 19 – Princess Ice Cream Social – Special guests: Elsa, Cinderella, Rapunzel & Merida

Must Register $20 per child.  Little Scoops – Town Plaza 500 Rte 303 Orangeburg.

 

Friday – June 19 – Palisades Fair

Fridays – Sundays from June 18 to July 5 at Palisades Mall Commuter Parking Lot. There you’ll find a huge carnival, food, games and an impressive lineup of FREE live entertainment and shows that themselves are worth the trip. Print 2 for 1 coupons on the event website!   www.palisadesfair.com

 

 

June 19 – Passport to Imagination @ Michael’s

10am –  12pm.  $4.  Join in an imaginary road trip from the beach to the county fair and beyond, with fun kids’ crafts at each stop.

 

Saturday June 20 – Child Passenger Seat & Community Safety Check

10am- 2pm – Honda of Nanuet:  10 Route 304 Nanuet

Sponsored by Rockland County Traffic Safety Board. There will be a certified child passenger safety technician will be on hand to install and inspect infant and child carseats.

Saturday June – Serendipity Saturday Lake Nanuet

11am- 6pm.  Open to all Clarkstown Residents with town i.d.

Not only is it open swim but there will be everything there from Build a Snowman contest, Bubble mania Flutterferry Craft, Spin Art and so much more! Bring your lunch and enjoy the day!

 

Saturday June 20 –  Kids Club – Make a “Popsicle” book @ Michaels

10am – 12pm  $2.   30 minute, Drop in. Ages 3 and up.  Take home a completed popsicle book project.

 

June 20 – 2nd Annual Fairy & Gnome Festival   11am – 3pm *Rain or Shine*

Get your wings out, polish your wands, and dress up as your favorite fantasy character! With the help of our on-staff Fairies, make and take home one of our famous Fairy or Gnome gardens!

Create your own look from our selection of wings, wands, and tutus. Try our enchanted donuts or decorate your own fairy wand cookies! Get your face painted by Sheri from Paintmesheri.com, and frolick through our beautiful flowers with Kristin of ‘Wiggle & Giggle’. We also have *Father’s Day* card making and fairy stencils!

–Join us for our Costume Parade at 1pm–The event itself is free and takes place at our Greenhouses. There will be both free and charge crafts.

Sunday, June 21 – Summer Solstice

5pm – 7pm:  Bell- Ans’ -Summer Solstice is about celebrating the life-sustaining power of the sun & honoring the spiritual fire within each of us that enables us to create our dreams.  Enjoy healing Sounds; Sacred, Traditional & Yogic Music. Listening and participating – with Catherine Moon & Carole Brill. Contribution: $15 general; $10 students & seniors

 

Monday, June 22 – Passport to Imagination @ Michaels Arts & Crafts

10am-12pm. 14 A Spring Valley Marketplace
$4 per class.  Children 3 and up are invited to come on an imaginary road trip from the beach to the county fair and beyond, with fun kids’ crafts at each stop.
