Hello Friends! Spring is here! I don’t know about you but I’ve been spending my afternoons outside soaking up the vitamin D, letting the kids play themselves exhausted 🙂 This week (Friday) is Earth Day; there are scheduled cleanups within Rockland County that you can volunteer to join the cleanup.  A schedule can be found at www.keeprocklandbeautiful.org, this week Blauvelt, Pearl River, Spring Valley, Valley Cottage.

I wanted to share some info for my fellow RC peeps; Kids eat FREE at Ihop . Going on NOW thru May 6th from 4pm – 10pm. FREE 🙂  Also, Nyack’s farmers market is now going on Saturday mornings, definitely worth checking out.

Join us on May 1st when we will host a Breast Cancer walk/run in memory of Loretta Cappiello, (“Retta”), a former Nanuet resident. We will host a series of 1 mile walk/jog/sprints through downtown Nanuet. Funds raised will go directly to the Breast Center at Nyack Hospital. Monday, April 18

9:30am:  Little Explorers Playgroup

Sensory exploration and age appropriate createve projects for babies and toddlers. Each week we will explore different materials. Parents and children will have time to relax and play as well as visit with the animals at the end of each class. Coffee, tea, and the cleanup on us! $20 for child with caregiver / $10 sibling.  Please register in advance by clicking the Ticket link.

Friday, April 22 – EARTH DAY

1pm:  Earth Day at Red Hill Nursery

Kids can learn about seeds and plants by engaging in a hands-on activity in which they observe seeds, plant them, and watch them grow at home! We will also make pine cone bird feeders to help them interact with nature!  241 S Little Tor Rd New City

Saturday, April 23

11am:  Family Edible Gardening Day

Abma’s Farm 700 Lawlins Rd, Wyckoff, NJ

This is a FREE event (no cover charge or tickets); however, there is a materials fee for all workshops.  Herb Garden Make & Take Workshops: 11am-3pm
Edible Gardening Seminar with Greg Carbone: 11:30am
Vegetable Container Garden Make & Take Workshops: 12-2pm

**Don’t forget, our farm market and petting zoo is open until 5:30pm on Saturdays, as well as our Tomasello Winery Tasting Room!**

Sunday, April 24

10am:  Family Fun Day

FREE Open house. Please join us for a fun-filled day of circus arts, dance, music, and storytelling. You and your children will also enjoy a variety of hands-on arts & crafts activities such as decorating a birdhouse, creating a bird feeder, making spring-themed jewelry, coloring, and more! There will be healthy snacks for the community to enjoy. This event will be FREE and open to the public. Tarrytown Music Hall 13 Main St, Tarrytown.

12pm:  Welcome Spring

With nature as our inspiration, we’ll make flower crowns and wreaths, create a collaborative mandala, weave and enjoy spending time outside, playing, creating, and taking it all in. All ages welcome! $15 per person.  Circle on the Farm – Bells Ans Park Orangeburg

Wednesday, April 20

6pm:  Peekskill Brewery takes over Ambulance Brew House Nanuet.  Come enjoy core favorites alongside some limited releases that rarely, if ever, make their way outside of the brewery.

7:30pm:  Suffern Wild & Scenic Film Festival

5pm:  Wine Tasting to Support Team Erika

Jacqueline’s Wine Bar located at 129 Main Street, Nanuet  is hosting a wine tasting event to support Walk MS and Team Erika. Cost: $25.00 per person in advance, $35.00 per person at the door. Seating is limited, advance purchase is strongly suggested.

5pm:  Glass Class
