Day Out with Thomas Ready, Set, Go Tour 2016
The Ready, Set, Go Tour is racing into a train station near you. Wet traveled to Essex Steam Train in Connecticut this April. Percy was there too, for photos, carnival rides and THOMAS! All Day Out With Thomas events include a HUGE Gift Shop with all types of Thomas toys and DOWT Exclusives. We buy the DOWT Collectible Caboose each year.
We are still huge Thomas fans, Jack will be six this May and I am getting sad that this could be his last DOWT event. He has been to six of them, between Essex and Strasburg. A yearly and birthday tradition for Jack, my family goes or his Grandparents and his Aunt & Uncle have taken him to Essex in the past, too.
Essex Steam Train’s DOWT event is full of activities, I recommend at least 3-4 hours to do it all, the train ride is 25minutes but the day can be filled with all sorts of fun. We were there 3 hours and didn’t even ride the carnival rides. They have an Imagination Booth, train tables set up, meet Sir Topham Hat, temporary tattoos, story time, movie screenings and more. Activities do shut down about 4:30pm at Essex, I recommend showing up early for your ride and doing activities before and again after your ride.

TIPS:
- There are coupons through Toys R Us Rewards for B1G1 Free photos at DOWT can mix and match images too!
- Arrive early parking gets packs and over flow lot requires 5min train ride or a bus ride to ticket booth
- Activities wrap up at 4:30- if you train is 3pm or later, you want to arrive 2pm or earlier to do all rides and attractions
