Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie
Making Masterpieces: Get ready for a summer’s worth of “drive-in movie” experiences by helping your child create a customized box car from which to watch movies at home. Children will be guided on how to build and decorate their own car and will watch a short movie (with snacks) when their car is done. Museum admission plus $5.00 materials fee per child.

Reptile Day: The Nature of Things an environmental educational outreach program funded by a grant from the NY State Library’s Family Literacy Library Services program. Registration is required.

Farmer’s Market: This year will offer a variety of produce, locally roasted coffee, farm-fresh eggs, prepared food products, poultry, and more. Returning favorites, such as Wave Hill Bread, Trapani Orchards and Pickle Licious, the market has also once again increased its artisan program with hand-made cutting boards, jewelry, pottery, and photography.

Patriotic Storytime: Kickoff the July 4th Weekend at the Kent Public Library with a Patriotic Story Time. Join us outside (inside the Library, if weather is bad) for a story time for all ages. Be sure to wear your RED, WHITE and BLUE! No registration required

Kids DIY: Join a hands-on workshop and you and your child can create a cool Ice Age: Collision Course bowling game. Once the game is built, your child can decorate it with stickers of characters in the new Ice Age movie.

Ryan’s Field, Kent
Backyard Games: Head to Edward Ryan Memorial Park on Sunday, July 3 for the Backyard Olympics. This will be a fun filled family event that will help enhance your 4th of July weekend. Registration begins at 9:30am and events will start at 10am. Compete in events like sack races, water balloon toss, 3 legged race and other fun classics.
Monday July 4th
Clermont Historic Site, Germantown
Old Fashioned 4th: Join us for a day of 18th century crafts, Reenactors, music and entertainment. Then, enjoy live music, delicious hot food and fireworks over the Hudson River from Saugerties. This is a perfect event for families and friends to celebrate America’s birthday!
Hyde Park
Parade: Parade steps off at 10:00 am! The theme of this year’s Hyde Park Parade is “National Park Service Celebrating 100 Years.” The parade starts at the Roosevelt Theaters and ends in the back of the Regina Coeli Church for trophies and awards.
