Hello March!  We are one more week closer to Spring and of course Easter.  We are very excited to be doing some great things at the JV mall with their Easter bunny so make sure to keep your eyes on the calendar.  Until then here are some other local events worth checking out!

 

Thursday March 2nd – Saturday March 4th

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Celebrate the 18th annual Read Across America Day at The Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum with three fun-filled days featuring storytimes read by special guests and local authors.

March 2nd Diversity Day! 12:00, 2:00, and 4:00. Volunteers from the United Way will read beloved children’s books that celebrate people’s differences and all the great qualities that bring us together.

March 3rd Susanna Leonard Hill Day! 3:30 Susanna Leonard Hill author of many great children’s books including April Fool, Phyllis! And Can’t Sleep Without Sheep, will read at a special storytime.

March 4th Ladybug Girl Day! 3:00 and 4:00 Jacky Davis and David Soman, author and illustrator of Ladybug Girl will read and demonstrate how their wonderful illustrations are drawn.  Children will also have a chance to get their picture taken with a Ladybug Girl costume character!

Saturday March 4th

Kids DIY: Join our hands-on workshop and you and your child can build a rain gauge house, so you and your budding scientist can measure the rain dropped by spring storms. Once the gauge is built, your child can paint their project to personalize it.
o All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.(APPLEMOMS Favorite)

Wappingers Falls

St Patrick’s Day Parade: Parade begins 1pm (lineup at 12pm) West Main St. & North St. and ends at Mesier Park. 

Constitution Marsh & Audubon Sanctuary, Wappingers Falls

Eagle Hike: Put on your hiking boots and gloves and head out for an Eagle hike at Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary, led by one of their educators. Bring your own water, warm clothes, and binoculars (if you have them).
