Putnam & Dutchess Weekly Events 2/4 – 2/10

Another week Another Monday off from school!  I am wondering if we will ever get a full week back!  At least my four year is having fun playing outside, and she may even get to try skiing lessons sometime this month!  Don’t Forget Our Rockland Mom’s Night Out is THIS Friday, February 6th at My Gym in Nanuet.  You won’t want to miss this one we will have some amazing vendors and delicious treats!  Until then here are some other places to visit and things to do! “Tiny Toes meet Yogi Toes” A parent-child partner workshop ages 3-7. $20 per pair  Activities are designed to enhance body awareness, coordination and social skills through games, pretend play, and cooperative movement based on traditional age-appropriate yoga poses. Calming exercises will also help parents and children alike, and may serve as useful life tools for centering, stress-relief and better self-control. The workshop will also include a yoga-themed art activity that can be brought home and enjoyed.

4-H Family Fun Da with Science, Technology & Engineering

Spend a Family Fun Day with 4-H and take part in some interactive, hands-on experiments presented by IBM Volunteers.The Family Workshops will offer these 3 opportunities:

Spaghetti Challenge: Can you design & build a spaghetti tower that will hold a marshmellow or even pennies? Test your engineering talent & find out.

Nose Dive: Will you take a nosedive? All you need to find out is a sheet of paper! Fold a Navy Jet and experiment with lift and drag to make it go left, right and loop de loop.

Eat Your Science: Cooking can be similar to a chemical equation! Make yummy ice cream while learning about chemistry.

This program is open to Putnam youth ages 5 & up who are accompanied by a parent or guardian.  Participants need not be 4-H members. Families are welcome.  Registration forms are available on The Cornell Cooperative Extension website or by calling 845-278-6738

Tuesday February 10th 

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Afternoon ABC 123! The Missing Mitten Matching Mystery starts at 2:30pm Join the Magnificent Mr. Mitten Maker as we move through the museum searching for magic missing mittens that must  mostly match. Children are invited to bring an object that starts with the letter “M” from home for a special show and tell!

Mom & Tot Yoga – We finally made it to class and had so much fun plus the admission price lets you play all day so you can go to class head home and have some lunch and then go back for the rest of the afternoon TOTAL DEAL, it is for kids 2.5 and up $10 for just the class $15.
