So my older daughter has winter break this week!  It’s actually been kind of fun seeing my girls really get to play with each other the past couple days since we have been cooped up thanks to the weather!  However, that all ends tomorrow when we are back to regular activities for my little one and Grandma is getting some quality time with my older daughter.   We are also playdating out hearts out since my 5 year old can’t go a full week without seeing her school friends now!  So for those of you who don’t have plans here is some of the places we will be!

Friday February 19th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Wonderdome – This guided play experience will give parents and kids new ideas about what to do in this popular exhibit area.  We will focus specifically on sensory learning and colors.  This program is included with museum admission.

Patterson Library, Patterson

Kid’s Movie Day – Head over at 11am to watch a favorite children’s movie.

Saturday, February 20th

Kent Library, Kent

Winter Festival – Participate in candy themed activities throughout the library.  Event runs from 11am to 3pm.

Nature in WinterDress warmly, and go for a walk to learn to identify trees and rocks.  See how animals spend the winter. If there is snow on the ground, we will probably see some animal tracks and learn to identify them.

Mizzentop Day School, Pawling

Pirate & Fairy Party – Shiver me timbers it’s a p-arrrrty! Break out the fairies wings and pirate hats for a morning of fun activities and adventures. There will be games, a treasure hunt and a raffle. Come in costume! $5 per child

The Center for Performing Arts, Rhinebeck

Morning Family Series –  Mr. Pennygraff’s Cirkus Sideshow Spectacle  This fun-filled theater romp uses music and humor to turn the standard idea of “happily ever after” on its head. Characters slide in and out of tales; Cinderella rebuffs Keith Bindlestiff, co-founder of the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus takes you on an entertaining “tour” of the American midway, from the Sideshow to the Big Top. Keith presents jaw-dropping sideshow feats and a showcase of amazing stunts and circus skill including spinning tops, spinning plates, spinning ropes, and whirling machetes!

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Family Free Night – MHCM is open late and admission is FREE from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the third Saturday of each month.  Family Free Nights are sponsored by M&T Bank.

Stony Kill Farm, Wappingers Falls

Open Barn – Enjoy a guided tour of a working farm with live animals from 11am to 1pm. Formely a part of the Verplanck family estate, which also included the Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, a Colonial homestead also open to visitors. Trails and grounds are open to all from sunrise to sunset for hiking and nature enjoyment.

Sunday February 21st

Stony Kill Farm, Wappingers Falls

Open Barn – Enjoy a guided tour of a working farm with live animals from 11am to 1pm. Formely a part of the Verplanck family estate, which also included the Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, a Colonial homestead also open to visitors. Trails and grounds are open to all from sunrise to sunset for hiking and nature enjoyment.

Fishkill Recreation Center, Fishkill

Train Show – This show will feature the best in model train displays, memorabilia and related hobby items, for fun and for sale.   Admire the many operating train layouts, then browse extensive dealer and vendor tables.  Don’t miss the LEGO© city exhibits and bring the kids to thrill at Thomas The Tank Engine© recreations.

Mr Todd’s Gym, Poughkeepsie

Sunday Bounce  – It’s an open gym, where parents go out on the floor with their children and have fun.  Play on spring floors, rope swing, bounce on our tumble tracks(long trampolines) and bounce castles, pre-school shapes, balance beams, bars and more.
