It’s official I bought the last present today! Time to wrap and prep for Christmas! The fever has hit our house full force and my kids are ready! So if you are finished too and looking to get out with the kids before the holiday craziness, here are your best bets!

Friday December 18th – Sunday December 20th 

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

If Your Give a Mouse a Cookie Storytime – The Mouse from the book If you give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff! This costumed character will meet, greet and pose for photos as we read the classic story! Free with museum admission.

Saturday December 20th

Kent Library, Kent

Story Time – Local author Thomas Clemmens will read his new book ‘Mistaken for a dog’. The star of the book Charlie will also be there!

Clermont Historic Site, Germantown

Christmas Open House – Explore the mansion at your leisure enjoying the holiday decorations with docents available to answer questions in each room. Cider and cookies available in the visitor’s center.

The Center for Performing Arts, Rhinebeck

A Christmas Carol – Join Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, Ebenezer Scrooge and some wacky ghosts as they find the true meaning of Christmas.  Enjoy a live theater show with your favorite holiday songs performed by Kids on Stage, The CENTER’s after-school workshop program.

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Globe Ornament Making – Turn a clear plastic ball into a treasured ornament at this fun project. We’ll have different options for your child to choose from including a snowman and Santa!  $5.00 materials fee per child (adults free)

Tuesday December 22nd

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Afternoon ABC’s  – P is for Presents!  The alphabet’s presents have gotten all mixed up and we can’t tell whose gift is whose! We’ll have to open them up and sound it out to solve the mystery. After we solve the ABC mystery we’ll use letter stamps to make our own alphabet gift wrap. This program is free with museum admission.
