It’s been a busy fall around here and it’s not slowing down!  Our Mom’s Night Out last Friday was great despite the weather!  Our vendors were fantastic and I know I had a great time seeing everyone!  If you are looking to get out this weekend here are some of your best bets!

Flea Market – One of New York’s largest and most popular outdoor flea markets with 600 vendors.

Lowes, Poughkeepsie

Kids Workshop – Get your kids in the spirit by bringing them into Lowe’s to build their own spooky Haunted Birdhouse!

Fall Festival – Festival activities include hayride around the farm, face painting, bouncy castle, pony rides, pumpkin patch, farm animals, smoked turkey legs, pumpkin cheesecake, wood fired oven pizza, apple picking, wood fired oven pizza, BBQ, cider doughnuts, fudge and more!

Sunday October 11th

Brewster Fire House, Brewster

Open House – The fire safety (smoke) house will be there, and that’s a must for parents to take kids to. Children are fascinated by the hands-and-knees experience, and they’re learning about how to protect themselves at the same time.  The event features a live burn, pony and fire-truck rides, and pumpkin decorating.

Monday October 12th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Harvest Festival – Help the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum kick-off a Healthy Eating Initiative by highlight locally sourced, Hudson Valley food.  They will also celebrate a new partnership between MHCM and the The Farm Truck, a ‘Field Good Food’ truck!  Tons of activities for children and adults including a farm animal petting zoo! Free with museum admission.

Tuesday October 13th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

ABC 123: Monster Books & Letters – The wooly, whimsical, wild, Wubbayou will teach kids about his favorite letter.  Read monster stories and invent your own monster finger puppets. Beware! Each letter monster we create will make its alphabet monster sound!  Free with museum admission.

Wednesday October 14th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Autumn Art – Celebrate the season by using colorful leaves to make beautiful artwork. Children will create collages and use special cyanotype paper to take silhouette photos of fallen leaves. $5 per child with museum admission.
