We finally have our Halloween costumes settled, so we are ready to take on the rest of October!  Which is great because we have plenty of stuff going on to keep us busy and for you to check out!

Friday October 16th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

StarlabThis program takes place inside of our inflatable planetarium, but inside children will learn about color, light and shadows (not constellations or the night sky). Each child will create their own Halloween themed shadow puppet. Space is limited, $3.00 per child with museum admission.

Beekman Library, Hopewell Junction

Family Movie Night – The movie this month is The Book of Life, a musical comedy adventure full of thrilling visuals. All ages are welcome. Children can come in their pajamas. Popcorn will be served. Water bottles are recommended.

Saturday October 17th

Mesier Homestead Museum, Wappingers Falls

Halloween Parade & Festival – Enjoy live music entertainment by the Alice Cooper cover band, Schools Out. See Ryan Dutcher, the magician, and a Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator, Rick Martinez.  The Halloween Parade will march from Elm Street, Wappingers Falls, NY down South Avenue� and end on Spring Street at the entrance of the park at Meiser Homestead.

Soukup Farms, Dover Plains

Harvest Festival – Hay Rides, Hay Maze, Pumpkin Patch, Games, and Family Activities. We’ll also have the Two by Two Petting Zoo

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Late Night and Family Free Time – Open until 8:00 pm this night and admission from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm is FREE!

Southeast Museum, Brewster

Kids Workshop – Each child will be given a beautiful canvas bag imprinted with an exciting Halloween graphic. Using non-toxic fabric markers, trick-or-treaters will color their bag and make beautiful designs with their name.

Harvest Moon Orchard, Brewster

Fall Festival – Festival activities include hayride around the farm, face painting, bouncy castle, pony rides, pumpkin patch, farm animals, smoked turkey legs, pumpkin cheesecake, wood fired oven pizza, apple picking, wood fired oven pizza, BBQ, cider doughnuts, fudge and more!

Sunday October 18th

Harvest Moon Orchard, Brewster

Fall Festival – Festival activities include hayride around the farm, face painting, bouncy castle, pony rides, pumpkin patch, farm animals, smoked turkey legs, pumpkin cheesecake, wood fired oven pizza, apple picking, wood fired oven pizza, BBQ, cider doughnuts, fudge and more!

Wednesday October 22nd

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Making Masterpieces – Dia De Los Muertos, Day of the Dead, is a popular holiday celebrated in Mexico and around the world on November 1. Children will learn about the holiday and decorate their own traditional sugar skull. NOTE: Pre-registration for this program is required.  $5 per child with museum admission.
