This weekend looks gorgeous!  The girls and I are fighting off our early fall colds so we will be outside soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the good weather while we still can!  Here are some of the best places to be!

Friday October 14th

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Showcase: We’ll ramping up the imagination play factor in RiverTown by introducing different costumes and encouraging role play.  What will your job be?

Saturday October 15th

Kimlin Cider Mill, Poughkeepsie

Cider Tasting: Tour the historic cider mill, drink local ciders and Kimlin Cider, Enjoy Food from the grill, music & entertainment, cider making demonstrations.  Try your luck at raffles and have a good time!

Fall Festival: Beautiful fall foliage, delicious food and fun for the entire family!

Halloween Parade & Festival:The parade begins at 11am at Elm St. and ends at Mesier Park where vendors will be set up with all your Halloween and fall needs. Costume contest for all ages, wear your Halloween best! Pumpkin patch crafts, music, vendors, costume contest and Parade!

Family Free Night: MHCM is open late and admission is FREE from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the THIRD Saturday of every month. Please note:  this event is intended for families with children ages 0-6.  Parent supervision is required at all times.

Afternoon ABC’s:We’re getting ready for Halloween in this month’s Afternoon ABC 123.  “GRRRR!”  “SSSSSS!” “AAAAAAH!”  What kind of silly sound will your monster make?  Join us and make a letter monster finger puppet and practice finding the letters that make it growl!

Wednesday October 19th

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Making Masterpieces: Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a popular holiday celebrated in Mexico and around the world on November 1.  Children will learn about the holiday and decorate their own traditional sugar skull.  Because sugar skulls are made in advance, pre-registration for this program is highly recommended.  Call (845) 471-0589 to reserve your spot!  Museum admission plus $5.00 materials fee per child.

Brewster Library, Brewster

Pajama Storytime: Wear your pajamas to the library! On the  third  Wednesday of every month, gather around for picture book stories and songs before bedtime. Open to children of all ages. Please register early…seats are limited!
