I hope everyone enjoyed Valentine’s day.  My girls were talking about cupid all day and watching out for his arrows.  Now that we have another V-Day under our belts we are heading into the long President’s day weekend!  Now that I reminded you of that here are some other places to check out.

Friday February 16th

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Starlab: Journey into the museum’s StarLab Planetarium to learn basic astronomy concepts. After the program, you’ll be able to find real constellations in the night sky!

Saturday February 17th

Studio Around the Corner, Brewster

Art for PARC: #ArtforParc is an art exhibit showcasing many works from individuals that receive support from the Arc of Putnam. This creative movement provides life-long learning, community service, and vocational opportunities through the creative arts for people with developmental disabilities of all ages in an environment of warmth, encouragement, and inclusion.

Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site, Newburgh

Washington’s Birthday Celebration: There will be music, military demonstrations, historical presentations, and a take-home craft every day. Join us in singing “Happy Birthday” to The General, eat a piece of his birthday cake and enjoy all that each day has to offer.

Family Free Night:  MHCM is open late and admission is FREE from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the THIRD Saturday of every month. Please note:  this event is intended for families with children ages 0-6.  Parent supervision is required at all times.

Farmers Market:  All winter long you can find fresh greens, root vegetables, fruits, an array of cheeses, seafood, beef, pork, poultry, honey, maple syrup, breads, jams, flours, wine, beer, spirits, prepared foods, knitted items, fragrant soaps, bath & skincare items, cleaning products, cutting and display boards and so much more!

Story & Playtime: Come join us for free play, bouce houses and stories with the Apple Moms and kids!

Pendulum Workshop:  The perfect workshop for your average 4 to 6-year-old science lover! We’ll start out with a fun lesson on magnets, starring the Magnetic Detective – then each child will get to make their own “magic,” question-answering, magnetic pendulum toy.
