Happy May Apple Moms! I am excited to start getting outside again! I’ve been battling some late winter blues so the sunshine has been doing me good! It is also Teacher Appreciation week so if you are reading this thank the person that taught you how! We are celebrating my husband’s birthday this weekend but if you are looking for something to do here are some spring treat to check out!

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie
Museum Showcase: What is that giant skeleton that greets you as you come up the museum’s staircase? It’s the Hyde Park Mastodon! We’ll learn about the Mastodon and how the remains of this giant creature were unearthed nearby. Then we’ll do a hands-on paleontology activity.

Sunday May 7th
Fishkill Farms, Fishkill
Apple Blossom Festival Experience the orchard in beautiful bloom! Hayrides will be running for the duration of the event to bring visitors on a scenic trip through the flowering orchard. Enjoy face painting, and fun kids craft activities celebrating the spring season including the opportunity to “touch a tractor” and interact with some of the big machinery that allows us to farm the way we do. Live music by kid’s band Michael and the Rockness Monsters.
