So my older daughter has discovered the joy of early dismissal and morning delays!  I will happily take that early spring the groundhog predicted sooner than later!  We are headed to the Playfair and then to Sesame Street Live for Valentine’s Day.  I hope you get some special time with the ones closest to your heart as well!

Thursday February 11th

Jack’s Clubhouse, Brewster

Valentine’s Day Party – Head over from 10:00 – 1:00 for a Valentine’s Day Party! We will have crafts and activities for children (perfect handmade gifts!). The cost will be $15 and includes play all day!

Friday February 12th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Starlab – Journey into the museum’s StarLab Planetarium to learn basic astronomy concepts.  After the program you’ll be able to find real constellations in the night sky!  $3 per person, plus museum admission.

Saturday, February 13th

Kent Library, Kent

Take Your Kid to the Library Day – explore your local library. Come to the library and listen to some stories, sing some songs and do a simple craft. For ages 3-5 from 12 to 12:45

Build & Grow – Build a wooden Valentines picture frame.

The Center for Performing Arts, Rhinebeck

Morning Family Series – Stinky Cheese Man the Musical This fun-filled theater romp uses music and humor to turn the standard idea of “happily ever after” on its head. Characters slide in and out of tales; Cinderella rebuffs Rumpelstiltskin, and Goldilocks meets the Three Elephants. Nothing is quite the same and you remember it!

Stony Kill Farm, Wappingers Falls

Open Barn – Enjoy a guided tour of a working farm with live animals from 11am to 1pm. Formely a part of the Verplanck family estate, which also included the Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, a Colonial homestead also open to visitors. Trails and grounds are open to all from sunrise to sunset for hiking and nature enjoyment.

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY

Stony Kill Farm, Wappingers Falls

Open Barn – Enjoy a guided tour of a working farm with live animals from 11am to 1pm. Formely a part of the Verplanck family estate, which also included the Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, a Colonial homestead also open to visitors. Trails and grounds are open to all from sunrise to sunset for hiking and nature enjoyment.

Fishkill Recreation Center, Fishkill

Train Show – This show will feature the best in model train displays, memorabilia and related hobby items, for fun and for sale.   Admire the many operating train layouts, then browse extensive dealer and vendor tables.  Don’t miss the LEGO© city exhibits and bring the kids to thrill at Thomas The Tank Engine© recreations.

Mr Todd’s Gym, Poughkeepsie

Sunday Bounce  – It’s an open gym, where parents go out on the floor with their children and have fun.  Play on spring floors, rope swing, bounce on our tumble tracks(long trampolines) and bounce castles, pre-school shapes, balance beams, bars and more.
