Camp is over so I am back in the entertaining 2 kids ALL day game again! I have family coming to visit at the end of the week so that should help break things up a bit! We are heading upstate with the family but if you are hanging around the area here are some good places to check out!
Wednesday July 20th
Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie
Making Masterpieces: Does your child ever have an occasional “terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day?” We invite you to create a Bad Day Sock Puppet for those days your child could use an extra friend to talk to. Puppet therapy has been proven to help children process a wide-range of emotions, to practice communicating how they feel, and to encourage healing. This Making Masterpieces session will include a reading of the book “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” by Judith Viorst. Museum admission plus $5.00 materials fee per child.
Storytime: Join Ed, our special guest volunteer, as he makes some of his favorite stories come alive! This program is best for children ages 3-5. Free with museum admission.

Concert: The 50-piece Southern Dutchess Concert Band will be performing a selection of show tunes, popular standards, marches, light classical and wind ensemble music. The Southern Dutchess Concert Band consists of woodwind, brass and percussion musicians from southern Dutchess County and surrounding areas.

Make & Take: Drop by the library between 12-2 pm and make a fun craft related to our summer reading theme: “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!” For ages 5 and up. Younger children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. No registration needed.

Rocket Show: Take to the skies as this introduction to rocketry explains how and why rockets fly. You’ll witness real model rocket launches that soar several hundreds of feet into the air and deploy parachutes for their return. This is an outdoor show. If it rains there will be a substitute show in the Town Hall.
