March is here! Which means my baby is turning two! Wish me luck as she threw herself on the floor at Sports Authority today since my husband was taking too long to try on shoes, here comes the terrible twos! If you are looking for something to occupy your own terrible two year old here are some local events to check out!
Monday February 29th
Kent Library
New Mom’s Group For Mom’s with children one and under. Run by two public health nurses go to meet people or ask any questions. Runs from 12:30 to 2:30pm
Tuesday March 1st
Seven Star Dance Studio, Brewster
Story Time with a Twist Starts at 10:30 listen to a story and then enjoy open studio dance and movement time til 11:30 for 1-4 year olds.
Friday March 4th
Mahopac Library, Mahopac
New Mom’s Group – Mom’s with children one and under. Run by two public health nurses go to meet people or ask any questions. Runs from 2 to 4pm
Patterson Library, Patterson
Lego Club – Show off your incredible imagination and building skills by tackling our monthly theme, or choosing your own theme with the library’s Legos. We will display some of your creations for 2 weeks so bring a camera! Have any Legos to donate to the library? Bring them with you!
Saturday March 5th
Mahopac Library, Mahopac
Science for Young Minds – Learn about density by performing simple & fun science experiments that will educate, inspire and engage your imagination!
Home Depot, Brewster, Poughkeepsie, Wappingers Falls
Kids Workshop – Build a rolling toy wagon for your child’s tiny toys. Once the wagon is built, your child can decorate it with The Home Depot stickers.
Bowdoin Park, Wappingers Falls
Maple Open House – A fun-filled and educational experience for the whole family. Bowdoin Park visitors will have the chance to learn about the early practice of maple sugaring and how maple syrup is made today. You can even take home your own batch of maple syrup

St Patrick’s Day Parade – Parade begins 1pm (lineup at 12pm) West Main St. & North St. and ends at Mesier Park

Open Barn – Enjoy a guided tour of a working farm with live animals from 11am to 1pm. Formely a part of the Verplanck family estate, which also included the Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, a Colonial homestead also open to visitors. Trails and grounds are open to all from sunrise to sunset for hiking and nature enjoyment.
Sunday March 6th
Stony Kill Farm, Wappingers Falls
Open Barn – Enjoy a guided tour of a working farm with live animals from 11am to 1pm. Formely a part of the Verplanck family estate, which also included the Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, a Colonial homestead also open to visitors. Trails and grounds are open to all from sunrise to sunset for hiking and nature enjoyment.
