Is everyone hang in there over the summer! We have been pool and park hopping and enjoying being outside. Hope everyone else is having a fantastic July too!

Thursday July 20th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Gardening Time: Join us as we head outside to The Children’s Garden @ MHCM is where families learn about growing our own food and practice gardening techniques. The day’s lesson and participation is free and open to all with museum admission. Children who would like an extra take-home project can plant their own herb garden green house for $5!

The Lion King Jr: The African savanna comes to life on stage with Simba, Rafiki, and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this inspiring coming-of-age tale. Performed by The CENTER’s Kids on Stage Performance group, directed by Diana di Grandi.

Stony Kill Farm, Wappingers Falls

Butterfly Festival: Join us this year for our annual Butterfly Festival where you can step into a tent of a variety of butterflies. Learn about Monarchs and view the life stages of a butterfly up close at our Monarch Butterfly Education table. Plants from our greenhouse will be available for small donations along with a gift shop, crafts for the kids, activity area and storytelling, and tours through the Verplanck Memorial Garden. Local vendors will also be on hand and of course there will be food and fun!

Movie Under the Walkway: Star Wars Rogue One

Sunday July 23rd

Brinkerhoff House, Hopewell Junction

Farm Day: East Fishkill Historical Society will host a Farm Day at the Brinckerhoff House!  There will be colonial children’s games, farm animals, demonstrations, blacksmith and displays of antique farm equipment. Tours of the farm house and the 1820s school house will be available. Light refreshments will be served.

Olde Tyme Flea Market: Celebrating over 30 years, the is a family friendly atmosphere that offers a wide variety of bargains, treasures and unique finds for everyone.  When you come to the flea market you will discover everything from antiques and collectibles, arts and crafts and new merchandise as well a fun activities for the kids. Our flea market is held every Sunday each offering a wide variety of unique goods and services, including food concessions.

Monday July 24th

Mid Hudson Children’s Museum (Waterfront Market), Poughkeepsie

Kid’s Kitchen: We’re making delicious food from the freshest ingredients you can get! Children will follow educators as we pick produce from either our children’s garden or vendors at the market. Educators and kid volunteers will then demonstrate simple cooking techniques to turn the produce into a scrumptious kid friendly snack. And of course we’ll taste our creations!

Storytime with Ed: Join Ed, our special guest volunteer, as he makes some of his favorite stories come alive!  This program is best for children ages 3-5.  Free with museum admission.
