Thanksgiving Eve Line Dancing

Looking for a fun, pre-Thanksgiving date-night? Come for line dancing lessons and open dance led by Diane and Gary. All levels welcome. 18 and over please. 7:30-10pm. Castle Fun Center, Chester.

Turkey Trot

The 2nd Annual Walkill East Rotary Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving at 8 am. The 5k run/walk will be held rain or shine. All proceeds go to the charities of the Walkill East Rotary. Register online or in-person. For more information, visit www.OrangeTurkeyTrot.com.

Head to NYC for the annual event! Floats, balloons, and tons of performances!

 

Friday, November 28th

Crafty Science

For kids in sixth grade to middle school. Make a cool craft and learn about science. Program to be held at 3:30 pm at Empowering Port Jervis located at 11 Fowler Street, Port Jervis.

Make your Own Candy Cane Demonstration

Commodore Chocolatier is hosting this family-friendly event offering the opportunity to participate in a hands on, free demonstration of sugar pulling. Every participant makes a candy cane to bring home! Plan on arriving early and dress warmly as admission on a first-come first-served basis and you may need to wait in line. Skate Your Turkey Off

Kick off your Thanksgiving weekend having fun while working off that turkey! The skate session will be open from 1-7pm and will include games and prizes. Bring a new, unwrapped toy donation for Toys for Tots and your skate rental is free! Caste Fun Center, Chester.

Handmade for the Holidays” Bazaar

Need holiday gift ideas? Come check out tables full of handmade items crafted by local artisans. Seasonal Refreshments available. 12-6pm. Free Admission. Wallkill River School, Montgomery.

Christmas on the Farm

Choose your tree and shop for gifts in the farm store. Kids can visit Santa, see live reindeer, and take pony rides on weekends. Free coloring books and candy canes for each child. 11am-4pm. Manza Family Farm, Montgomery.

 

Sunday, November 30th

Christkindlmarkt

Inspired by the German tradition of markets during the Holiday season, this festival feature  local retailers, specialty foods, handcrafted goods, and entertainment. Santa Express arrives at 5pm! Free. 10am-6pm. Historic Front Street, Port Jervis.

Last Stop Shop Holiday Craft Boutique

Check out this boutique full of handcrafted items by local artisans. Shop for home decor, art, handmade candles and soaps, holiday items, wreaths, knit items, tree ornaments, pet accessories and more. Many items under $5. D & H Canal Visitor’s Center, Cuddebackville. 10am-3pm.

Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair

Do some shopping while getting into the Holiday spirit.  Over 35 vendors with  homemade items, food, raffles, 50/50, bake sale and much more. Please bring a canned food donation for food drive. Proceeds to go to the New Windsor food pantry and local youth groups. 10am-4pm. New Windsor Community Center, 555 Union Avenue, New Windsor.

Christmas on the Farm Trail with Eggbert

Visit Devitts for our areas favorite Christmas character, Eggbert The Talking Egg. Enjoy the Christmas trail which includes holiday displays, farm animals, and more! While you are there, you can buy your tree or other holiday decorations in the Christmas store. Open on Wednesdays & Friday-Sundays through December 21st at Devitts Nursery and Supply in New Windsor. Homework Help

Children in grades 1-6 can receive free homework help from Newburgh Enlarged City School District teachers. Bilingual teachers available. No Registration required. Program runs Mondays-Thursdays through Dec. 18 from 4-6pm. Newburgh Free library, Story Hour Room.

 

Tuesday, December 2nd

Winter Farm Market

Weekly indoor farm market featuring fresh winter produce. Perfect for your holiday meals! Open 3:30-6:30 pm at the Balais Farm, New Hampton.

 

Tail Waggin Tutors

Children can drop-in and read to volunteer licensed therapy dogs! Free. 6-7 pm at the Newburgh Library Town Branch.
