Wednesday, November 19

Homework Help, Newburgh

Children in grades 1-6 can receive free homework help from Newburgh Enlarged City School District teachers. Bilingual teachers available. No Registration required. Program runs Mondays-Thursdays through Dec. 18 from 4-6pm. Newburgh Free library, Story Hour Room.

 

Thursday, November 20

Zombie Survival @ Your Library, Newburgh

Prepare for a zombie apocalypse! Teens and tweens can test their survival knowledge and know-how in a series of tests and challenges. See who will be the ultimate Zombie Survivor! Open to the first 20 kids, grades 6 and up. No registration required. Program runs from 6:30-7:30 pm at the Newburgh Free Library.

 

Friday, November 21st

Crafty Science, Port Jervis

For kids in sixth grade to middle school. Make a cool craft and learn about basic nutrition. Program to be held at 3:30 pm at Empowering Port Jervis located at 11 Fowler Street.

 

Saturday, November 22nd

Bells on Broadway, Newburgh

Get into the holiday spirit at the 7th annual Holiday Market and Children’s Festival! This event will feature live music, storytelling, a Festival of Wreaths, Babes in Toyland gift workshop as well as photos with Santa and Frosty. 11am-4pm at the Ritz Theater Lobby, Newburgh.

Christmas Fairs, Goshen

The St. James’ Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian in Goshen, located right across the street from each other, will both be holding Christmas fairs this weekend. Come down to welcome the holiday season with gifts, Santa, lunch, baked goods, and holiday decorations. St. James’ Episcopal Church (10am-3pm) & First Presbyterian Church (9am-4pm).

Orange County Farm Toy Show, Middletown

Come check out vendors and exhibitors featuring new & used farm toys, farm memorabilia and more. Kiddie pedal tractor pull at 12pm for ages 4-12, with trophies and ribbons awarded. Toy show will also include a silent auction, antique tractor display, door prizes and food! Admission $3.00. Kids 5 & under free. All proceeds go towards the future construction of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County Education Center & 4-H Park. Event will be held from 9am-3pm at the Holy Cross Church Parish Hall Gym. 626 County Route 22, Middletown.

Turkey Tales, Cornwall-on-Hudson

Come learn all the fun facts about turkeys from environmental educator, Pam Golben, during a presentation with hands-on artifacts. After the presentation, Pam will lead a guided hike to search for signs of wild turkeys at the Wildlife Education Center (weather permitting). Make a turkey craft to take home. This program is for adults or children ages 5 and older and runs from 10-11am. Admission will be $7 for adults and $5 for children (museum members will pay $5 for adults and $3 for children. Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, Wildlife Education Center, 25 Boulevard, Cornwall-on-Hudson.

 

Sunday, November 23rd

Thanksgiving Open House at Bialas Farms, New Hampton

Local vendors will be selling homegrown produce and locally made products. Vendors will include LunaGrown Jam, Edgwick Farm Goat Cheese, Harvey and Pearl Artisan Baked Goods, Cactus Pete Beef Jerky, 1846 House Soaps & Baskets, Soons Orchards, and more! Event runs from 10am-3pm at The Barn at Bialas Farms, New Hampton.
