NYBG Holiday Train Show

This past weekend we took Jack to the annual Holiday Train Show, at 4.5 he is still obsessed with trains, as much as this exhibit is loved by kids, adults love attending too.  Inside the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory the G-Scale trains run on a quarter mile of tracks past many NYC sites and landmarks.   These landmarks are made of all natural materials: twigs, pine cones, berries, leaves, bark and seeds.  New this year are a replica of the Unispheres and Tent of Tomorrow from the 1964 New York’s World Fair in Queens.  You can also view the Old Yankee Stadium, Radio City, Rockefeller Center and Brooklyn Bridge among plenty of others.   Also don’t let a rainy or cold day keep you away, the conservatory is indoors and heated.

IMG_1239.JPGFor kids after the train show, stop by the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden is open with new hands-on-stations.   Kids can make mini sachets and learn about evergreen plants.  There are daily parades through the children’s garden with musical instruments.  On weekends kids also have a chance to make train puppets.  Fun and educational activities are always held at Everett Children’s Adventure Garden.
