Six Flags Buccaneer Beach

My family and I were able to check out the NEW Buccaneer Beach at Six Flags Great Escape, a pirate themed kids water park at the Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George.  I have not been to Great Escape myself since the mid 90s with my parents.  It was fun to get back there with my own kids.

The transformation of Noah’s Playground to Buccaneer Beach includes 24,000 square feet of water play for the kids with 10 new features jets, splash pads, slides and swings. The slides connected with the pirate ship drop into a pool manned with a lifeguard.  A large red slide on the side drops into water kids can stand, play and walk through.  Also 2,500 square feet of new seating area was added, we enjoyed lunch in the sun (but there is shade sections too) at the tables .

“We are thrilled to rejuvenate this beloved family attraction in Splashwater Kingdom,” said Eric Gilbert, park president, Six Flags Great Escape Resort Properties. “The introduction of Buccaneer Beach is in direct response to our guests’ feedback and breathes new life into this historic area of our beautiful water park.”

Remember not only does Six Flags Great Escape offer Buccaneer Beach, there are rollercoasters, rides and a lodge to stay at too! So much for the kids.  We cannot wait to go back in July with the grandparents and go on everything once again.  My kids 5 and 3.5 years old had to be pulled out, even with the cold temperatures that day.
