Mixed Me by Taye Diggs Review

Share

imageMixed Me, the latest book written by Taye Diggs and illustrated Shane W. Evans is out now helping conquer questions young kids have about themselves and peers may have.  This is Taye and Shane’s second collaboration on the topic, both whom are fathers.

imageMelissa and Denise, The Moms, held the Mixed Me book signing at  Aeropostale in TimeSquare.  We were able to check out their winter line for kids, PS Aeropostale. I haven’t shopped there in years, forgetting all the choices they have for the kids and myself. I left with clothes for myself and the kids. A place I can shop for the kids at the same time as myself is a win in my book, saving time.

Mixed Me‘s message- embrace what is unique about you.  He addressed several parents’ questions, talked to the kids and then read his new book to all the children sitting on the floor.

Kids were entertained before Taye Diggs arrived with temporary tattoos.  Jack began a tattoo collection, over thirty by the time I made him leave.  Aeropostale has so many cute choices, coming with sponges and everything to put them on.imageimage

The Moms teamed up with Second Chance Toys to donate gently used or new toys to children. Many children go without toys, which promotes learning, education and many basic skills. Since they began in 2006, they have given out over 217,000 toys to those in need.  A great charity helping kids.image
