#LSCSTARS Planetarium Ticket Giveaway

Share

We visited the Liberty Science Center apart of a blogger morning with Jersey Moms Blog, our tickets were provided in exchange for this review.

This past weekend, my husband and two young sons ages 5 and 2.5 and myself had the pleasure of checking out the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ. What an experience from beginning to end! We were among the first lucky people to view the brand new Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium. The planetarium itself is quite a sight to see, simply for its extreme size. In fact, it is now the largest and most advanced Planetarium in the Western Hemisphere.

When we walked in we were taken aback by the very large, globe shaped room. We were quickly ushered to our stadium style seats. I was immediately  blown away by the sheer height of the room. The host of the show gave a warning over the loud speaker to close your eyes if you feel dizzy. It almost felt as if we were standing on the side of a building, looking down. It was so cool! Once the show began, we were also warned to keep the flash off on our cameras.

The lights dimmed and the astronomical adventure to view this months featured show titled “Cosmic Celebration” began.  The director of the planetarium narrated the entire show and made a few jokes in between. He was a great addition to the fun. He brought us on a journey around the solar system and while the content of the show was far above the capacity of my 5 and 2.5 year old, my husband and i were in awe. We flew around the solas system and landed on The Earth, Moon, Saturn and Mars, to name a few. Due to the technology installed in this impressive planetarium, you really felt as if you were landing on these planets. The show itself was roughly 30 minutes and certainly captured many exciting details regarding scientific discoveries over the years.

Once the show ended we exited the planetarium and were granted the privilege of viewing the remainder of the science center. The rest of the science center was a blast, but by far the highlight of the day began with a “Cosmic Celebration” of minds and I would highly recommend taking the trek over to the Liberty Science Center. This was our first trip and certainly won’t be out last.

Also happening now is the Thomas Exhibit.
