The Little Prince and Jacob Burns Film Center
Last Month, my daughter and I were able to check out a one day screening of The Little Prince. More excitingly we checked out a new theater in Westchester we had never been to, the Jacob Burns Film Center is a must do in our area. We love finding new places to share with our friends. They have an entire workshop place, offer with digital creative programs for all ages.
We also met and learned about The Little Prince’s director, a Westchester resident, Mark Osborne who also directed “Ku Fu Panda”. The Academy Award Winner fell in love with the story of The Little Prince after receiving a copy from his now wife over 25 years ago. This stop motion animation film with clay characters, featuring the little girl, her single mother, The Aviator (who tells the story of The Little Prince), the Little Prince and Fox. A must see for families and a way to realize sometimes families need to slow down and really see the world, your kids and what matters.
The Jacob Burns Film Center is located in Pleasantville, NY with two buildings located across from one another. We loved visiting the Lab afterwards, with all the hands on art, programs and workshops for us to learn different techniques.
A partnership for the community and area schools, offering many educational programs, and their “viewing and doing” events in celebration for their 15th Anniversary.
The release of The Little Prince will take place later this year. At 108 minutes and rated G, it will be a must-see. We will be going again.
