imageThe Apple Moms Team has been coming to  Legoland Discovery Center Westchester in Yonkers for years now! Just like the movie “Everything is Awesome!” Located at Ridge Hill in Yonkers, it is accessible i87 and the major nearby highways.  From 684, we take the Saw Mill and Sprain right to Tuckahoe Rd W into Ridge Hill Center.

The moment you walk in, there are games and things to do, starting with taking group picture which later you can change background and add LEGO frames too.  The kids started at the games to play, all interactive for the kids to enjoy.

Leading to Kingdom Quest, a favorite of mine.  Ride in a car and shoot the bad guys to save the princess.   Who will have the highest score in your car? This fills our family competition time for the day usually.  You are dropped off in NYC made of LEGO bricks, called MINILAND.  Baseball stadiums, a mini Ridge Hill, the Statue of Liberty, this mom just thought of all the time it took the Master Builders. There are several interactive buttons to touch and see figures move and lights, make sure to check it out.

The kids also loved the 4D movie featuring CHIMA characters, Merlin’s Apprentice Ride (parents needed for kids under 4 feet to ride with and pedal) and the LEGO Racers Build and Test track.  A favorite for all where you can build a vehicle of your dreams and then race them down various tracks.  Options are unlimited.  A LEGO FRIENDS and DUPLO section for the littles. LEGOLAND Discovery Center has something for all, girls/boys and young/old.

Tickets start at just under $15 when purchased online for children (children 2 and under are free).  Activity Passes are an extra $4 and provide questions throughout the center and you can get stamps for them at the different attractions, cute bonus on a lanyard.  Prepare to spend a few hours inside.  There is also a huge climbing section (must wear socks) that is a kid favorite.

Open year round, it is a great place to visit and nearby public transportation helps you get there even without a car.  From personal experience either arrive first thing at opening or 2-3 before close for least crowds.  There is also a Cafe inside with snack and food and plenty of seating.

We are able to off a 20% discount for our readers.
