Jack Horner’s Dino Dig – Liberty Science Center #LSCDinoDig
As a Liberty Science Center Blog Ambassador for the day, I was provided with vouchers for my visit. All opinions are my own and honest.
This summer, we have been busy checking off adventures on our summer bucket list. Our latest visit brought us to the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ. What inspired us to take this day trip???? Dinosaurs!
The Liberty Science Center is in the middle of their Dino Days of Summer program. The center has been taken over by dinosaurs! The most exciting feature of Dino Days is the Jack Horner’s Dino Dig. Located in the backyard of Liberty Science Center, budding paleontologists get to experience what it would be like to dig for dinosaur bones. With the support of Jack Horner himself (the inspiration for the book and film “Jurassic Park”), the exhibit includes more than 50 replica fossils of prehistoric creatures.
We had blast digging for dinosaurs. With our brushes in hand, we discovered the skull of a Triceratops! There are over 50 fossils buried big and small for the kids to be unearthed buy the kids’ hands and tools given.
Dinosaurs are not the only thing to discover while at the Liberty Science Center. Make sure to check out the Mythbusters: The Explosive Exhibition, Illusion: Nothing Is As It Seems and the Imax Dome Theater.
Jack Horner’s Dino Dig is officially open 10:00 am – 5:30 pm through Labor Day, Sept. 4*. The experience is included, free of charge, with any Liberty Science Center admission ticket. Check at the Welcome Desk for more details. * Weather permitting
