Hornblower Events: The Imbible Rum Drinks and Pirates
Does NYC, Boat, Date Night or Girls Night Out and Drinks sound good? Yes? Great! Currently on the Hornblower Cruise & Events out of Pier 15 you can catch The Imbible- Rum Drinks and Pirates show during the Alive After Five Cruise; a comedy, drink along, musical. How can I forget sing-a-long? Tim and I boarded at 5pm for a long overdue date night. Located at the Seaport, arrive early for dinner, shopping or drinks before boarding. We upgraded our tickets for the dinner buffet since we didn’t have a chance to eat before boarding.
The cruise boards at 5pm, pulls out at 6pm, and around 7:15pm the show begins. After enjoying a smorgasbord of food for dinner, grabbing a glass of wine and listening to some music while standing on top deck taking in the sights of the city most of us New Yorkers take for granted. We went to bottom deck to sit and take in the show. While children are allowed on the ship, no one under 21 is allowed on the Pirate Deck for the show, personally other than standing on the top deck outside watching the sites which I know will not occupy three hours of my young kids attention, it it more for the adult scene with dancing and drinking on the 2nd floor and above.
The Imbible is also an award winning off-Broadway show, the 30 minute show onboard the Hornblower, includes pirates and the history of Rum while encouraging you to drink and taste the Hurricane and spiced rum drinks. I did not stop laughing as the 4 pirates sang and joked around while telling the story of Rum. Our tickets also included two glasses of wine. Make sure to catch this show on Thursdays and Sundays through October 31st, from 6-8pm.
