First MNO a Success! #appletotsMNO

Share

9/19 has come and gone (can you believe a week passed already?). I sure am grining ear to ear, so is Christine.  Less than two months ago we came up with this idea to reach out to our community, friends and brands that interest is to share with our readers and moms around the Hudson Valley.  Planning, designing, many emails and phone calls later we had Apple Tots in the Hudson Valley’s first Moms Night Out!  Anthony, owner of the Yorktown Heights MyGym, offered his location as the perfect spot for MNO.   Have you tried a MyGym yet?  We were members when Jack was younger and Charlotte didn’t move yet.  We had Jack’s 2nd Birthday party there too.  What a great party place for kids!

They day started out with dropping the kids at school and a quick trip to pick up delivered food from Revolution Foods, did you know they ship via Fresh Direct making shopping for your kids lunches even easier?  They are healthy, organic easy to pack lunches that the kids will love to take to school and each for lunch each day.  Revolution Food makes Ham & Cheddar, Turkey& Cheddar, Cheese Pizza Kit and Peanut Butter & Jelly Kits. At MNO we had Ham/Turkey/Cheddar out for the moms to try and they were gone before the night ended.
Then home to pack the car with everything to bring down. This is where I think my husband was happy for the last month I have been receiving packages almost daily full of items to raffle off, giveaway and things for our event.  All those boxes are gone now.  This week Christine and I covered my living room in bags and stuffed them full of information, samples and swag, teamwork made it quick, alone I would have been trapped surrounded by bags.  Our Mom Vendors provided brochures to place in those bags so anyone can view their online stores at home too.

7pm MNO started.  We had amazing raffle prizes to giveaway, food to eat (pasta from Grand Central Market in Baldwin was yummy), coffee from Starbucks and wine provided by Depot Wine & Liquors in Brewster, NY.  Renee Takes the Cake made adorable mini apple apple cupcakes and Apple shaped cookies, a fave if the moms and kids (who had moms take then home to share).

We thanked everyone who came, introduced our fellow mom presenters and vendors and continued to mingle the rest of the evening.  Shelia, Orange Rhino, from The Orange Rhino Challenge shared her story about being caught yelling at her kids one day and starting over her parenting style and yelling at her kids, and succeeding.  Her book comes out in October, make sure to pick it up, full of advice and personal stories along the way.  Jen, creator of MomCaveTV, came up with her idea after becoming a mom and watching TV and not connecting to anything she watched.  MomCaveTV is on youtube with “Real moms. Real Stories. Real Laughs” featuring two other hilarious moms too.
Tracey, creator of Kickety Split and mom of 2, came with high-quality clothing for girls.   I am so excited to see the upcoming release of boys wear.  I love the clothes are functional, cute and designed for children who MOVE.  What little girl doesn’t want pants with a skirt attached, comfy with a matching croppy top with boat neck (which is my favorite!)?  One lucky mom left with a Zippy Hoodie during our giveaways.

Speaking of raffles.  We had an amazing raffle table, with over 10 fabulous prizes from great brands such as Britax, Sneakz, Elf on the Shelf, Barefoot Books, Blue Man Group, Legoland Discovery Center and from our vendors of the night.   In the following days we received many comments and photos of the moms and kids enjoying their goodies they left with in their bags.  That makes us so happy!

gogo squeez!

Once again I want to thank all the Moms who came to our event and look forward to having more and meeting new terrific moms, make sure to be following us on Facebook!
