It’s time to have a party…
Parties have changed over the years, generic favor bags to custom, DIY, esty ordered and Pinterest inspired bags that cost more then per a kid at the party itself at times. We are in world of DIY and piecing things together to coordinate instead of just stopping into one store and being done with the whole thing. Which is great, but how do you save money?? On serving pieces, friends lend, borrow or you can buy clear or a solid color that will work for many occasions and keep them in a box (what I did). There are a ton of websites offering supplies and here we will keep updated coupon codes to help save money. Personal tip (as mentioned above): Starting with the baby shower for my first a boy, we went out and bought silver balloon weights, 4-6 large serving bowls, serving utensils, a utensil holder, and smaller dip bowls, to name a few in blue. They sit in a bin labeled and we reused for his Baptism, 1st and 2nd birthdays and some was reused for my daughter’s events. This was easier then re-buying everything for each event, everyone knows where this stuff is stashed and I have no problems sharing with others. We also bought a small tank to fill balloons for when we buy them in bags (cheaper then store) and do our own balloons for parties. At Michael’s, for example, with a coupon a tank will run you under $20 and it does come with string and balloons, too.
