Hey Apple Moms!  Exciting events around here the baby has taken her first steps!  She still prefers crawling but is now mobile on two feet as well.  We are headed to New Platz for an event this weekend at Historic Hugeunot Street if you want to join us, otherwise here are some more local places to check out!

Friday May 1st – May 3rd

Dutchess Stadium, Wappingers Falls

Hudson Valley Fair A spectacular array of amusement rides ranging from high-speed riders for thrill seekers to exciting rides for the little ones. More than 40 rides, games and attractions will be onsite, including a 130-foot Giant Wheel, the Himalaya, the Sky Flyer and the Fireball.

Friday May 1st

Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, Poughkeepsie

Discover Early Learning Junction Guided play experience will give parents and kids new ideas of what to do in this popular exhibit. We will focus specifically on trains and read some fun train stories! Starts at 2:30pm

Saturday May 2nd

Putnam County TOPS Building – Carmel

Putnam County Children’s Expo and Public Safety Day Operation “Safe Child” ID
cards, Fire Safety House, car seat and backpack checks, bike helmet fittings,
fire engine tours, face painting, interactive games and activities,
demonstrations, safety information, raffle prizes and more!

Dorrie O’Brien House, Brewster

Bluebell Festival to support the Putnam County Land Trust  Pony Rides and Petting Zoo, Face Painting and children’s craft activities.  1pm a Naturalist-Led Vernal Pool Hike will be offered where guests will be introduced to fairy shrimp, salamanders and frogs.  At 3pm there will be a guided woodland wildflower walk.

Center for Performing Arts Rhinebeck, Rhinebeck

Treasure Island  A musical adaptation of a favorite childhood adventure story. Robert Louis Stevenson’s thrilling tale of pirates, treasure maps, mutiny on the high seas and pieces of eight. Performed by Kids on Stage, The CENTER’s after-school workshop program, directed by Lisa Lynds.

 Sunday May 3rd

Fishkill Farms, Fishkill

Apple Blossom Festival Spend the day in the springtime splendor–with the high energy, refreshingly upbeat music of The Big Takeover band, tractor wagon rides through the blooming orchard, delicious grilled food, ice cream and relaxation.
