Crayola Experience in Easton, PA

Share

imageNeed a quick getaway from the the Hudson Valley?   I am sure you have heard about The Crayola Experience in Easton, PA.  Located just over the NJ/PA border, from Putnam its just 2 hours away, and will provide hours of fun for the whole family.  It can be done in a day, or add it on to another trip or the way home.  We have visited three times now, each one in addition to another area attraction. Each of our visits include something new, with four floors of fun they keep it interesting.  Admission includes a few tokens and bag to collect all your art work in while at the factory.

imageFirst floor includes admission, the World’s Largest Crayon, Café, a show and the Store.  The store includes everyone color ever made, you can create your own crayon box mix, find a present for anyone and limited edition toys/products too.  They also have pressed penny machines, which my family collects so don’t forget your quarters and pennies.

Wrap your own crayon, these color choices change and there are four or more choices, you can add your own name/symbol to the wrapper too.  Kids can make designs and sculptures with Model Magic, you can get extra colors in the machines with tokens. Other exhibits include Color Magic 4D, Toddler Town, Be A Star, Colossal Caddy, Say “Crayola” and more.   Special workshops are also featured on each floor at additional costs.

image image imageThird floor is home to the 2 story Color Playground, we saved this for last since the kids usually do not want to get out once inside.  Activities on this floor includes, painting, making a puzzle and crafts.  Water Works is a water play section with crayon shapes boats with canals and water ways boats need to get through.  Doodle in the Dark glows on the walls, floors and on screen, a perfect place to let the kids dance on an interactive floor.

image image imageThe forth floor as aerial views of the Playground and three not-to-be missed crafts. Personally these are my favorites- Drip Art, Meltdown and Melt& Mold. You can decorate 4×6 sheets with dripping wax color from sticks at Meltdown stations, many colors to choose from at each; draw, write or splatter here.  Drip Art using two crayons and spinning paper to create your own spin art to bring home. Want a crayon shaped like a dinosaur, crayon figurine or ring? At the Melt & Mold station you can pick a crayon and melt into into a shape of your choosing. All these projects you can bring home.
